I hear word of new augs in the sequel, and that the inclusion of some characters is currently undecided. New augs would be great, but not enough. I think the game won't have the same flavor without the Dentons or Tong or Maggie Chow ( I know she's dead..... or is she?), so Spector and his affiliates should try and work them in to the plot. What do you think about this?

Personally, I could deal with a new cast of characters, as long it makes sense, of course. But a prequel with Paul or even Walton Simons might be cool, if done right.
I'm sorta worried how they are going to deal with the differing endings of the first game. I hope they don't just pick one of the endings and say that's the one that happened, but instead make it more amorphous, where any of the three could conceivably have happened.

I think they should adopt this as the working title: Gunther Hermann: The Hunt for Orange Soda.

I think the sequel should include something like 3 different games. (as you start you choose the ending you took on the first DX and the story line plays out from your selection.) such as if you were to pick the helios ending the city would be in ruins, whereas if you picked a different ending there would be more people and the citys would be alive and jumping... I havent finished the gane yet, so I'm not exactly sure what each ending does yet. but just a thought.nullas you start you choose the ending you took on the first DX and the story line plays out from your selection.)

Also allow the ability to wear a backpack of sorts to get more stuff to fit in your inventory, or how about being able to import your DX1 character keeping all of your current skills and augmentations, adding to each as you advance in DX2. to accomplish this allow for 1 more augmentation space for each aug location. and In order to upgrade your skills in DX2 with your character, if youve imported one, make the skill points required to upgrade higher, if you start a new character, make the required skill points needed lower. very kewl!!!!

Hmm...That backpack idea is cool.
As for the importing. It could be a good idea. But it should just be a little treat and it's only unlocked after you beat the game normally.

Thanks for all the thoughts. While the idea for a backpack and character importation ( is that a word?) were really cool, I think that wsthune hit the nail on the head. The game should solely be about Gunther's life, and his orange soda fetish. More of a drama then a game. The last scene might have Gunther, dead on the ground, with a steady stream of orange soda, flowing from a dropped can, accompanying Gunther's blood as it meanders its way into a nearby sewer drain. Very dramatic, and many a tear to our eyes.

of course the idea for choosing the beginning you took is quite a good one, depending on which ending you chose to accomplish in DX1. of course with the importing of your previous character if lets say you didnt kill Maggie Chow, she will reappear, likewise with other characters, such as if you warned Smuggler in the first DX he will reappear in the second and thank you for warning him, and possibly give Info or tons of goodies for rescuing him!!!!!!!!!also just a thought!

hmmm..... while all of your ideas are interesting, Im not sure I like starting from one of the three endings because I disliked the endings and character importation seems kinda cheap.
oh well ;)
