actually now I dont use either cloak or the vision aug.. they're both usless for my playing style. The main HUGE disadvantage, and the reason why I dont use the vision aug, is beause it amplifies the blinding flash of exploding munitions like the gep rocket and lams, making me virtually blind for over 8 seconds.
As for how I counter a cloaked guy.. I usually never stay in one spot that long.. and always reacte lighting fast to the sound of a cloak aug being turned off, which gives me enough time to turn on all my augs, turn around, and blast him with a room clearing 20mm HE shell =D I guess Now the claoked aug could be of some use, but I'd rather save the energy it would consume to use with my speed aug and targeting aug. I usually only use 3 augs.. agressive defense, targeting, and speed.

Speaking of overpowered, I just came out of a game where I got a streak of almost 20 kills and came off at full health (to be later killed while I was buying all my skills

I got into the enemies tiny spawn room and just went nuts with the flamethrower, with all those augs on they couldn't touch me! The horrible slaughter finally stopped when their spawn switched to the other side of the map, but it was incredibl cheap in the meantime

i actually hid behind a cloaked teammate when a guy with a flamethrower was chasing me and had very little ammo. of course, i had the vision enhancement so i couldnt cloak. i think that teammate is still puzzled how the guy flamed him when he was cloaked.

Having now played the multiplayer game, including one game with a guy who did nothing but camp with his Cloak activated and GEP Gun ready, I agree with Setta.

Thou shalt be resurrected!
D'JK, I can think many ways to counter a camper like that... LAM, 20mm HE, Aggressive Defence System,
Cloack, maybe even Vision... the list goes on. I like about DXMP that it's quite balanced and no gun is too powerful if you know how to counter it. But I hate servers which start with 0 augs and give you 1 per kill... it's pretty hard to kill someone with full augs when you got nothing.
Oh, and I also hate that you spawn without any weapons whatsoever. This has never been a "problem" for me, but I've had a few very cheap kills because the guy was still thinking of which guns to pick.
I also dislike buying skills, mostly because I hardly have time to do it. An option to auto-buy them (ala augs) would be nice.

I don't think any of the Augs are unbalanced, I'm just growing weary of the quake-esque way in which people are playing lately.
However of the weapons: Knives are too strong; Sniper rifle is too weak.

Ballistic Protection negates knives pretty well.
