Why are they saying this is certain?

Square Enix have announced their line-up for E3, no Thief 4 there, so don't even bother.

Right. I knew nothing of the announcement lineup, but all signs had pointed to a no-show.

That article's so full of garbage, I can't believe people get paid to write articles like that in the name of the company. Since I'm not a gamer, I should apply for a position and see how far from the mark I can go before the company starts to worry about the content.

"Our money is on Garrett making like Ezio and using parkour to make his away around the city, picking off targets and perhaps even commanding his own guild of thieves. As fans of both Thief and Assassin's Creed we're all for Eidos Montreal cribbing liberally from Assassin's Creed. The fact that the game seems to have switched to a third-person perspective lends some weight to all this wild speculation."

Am I the only one who detests the word parkour?

I would hope that if they wanted to make an AC clone, they could come up with some other IP instead of dragging Thief into it. What Thief is, or at least was, is a rare blend: A very unique play style combined with a unique world, that some how became popular enough to be continually invested in. Even TDS, while it did move more towards a mass market appeal, was still recognizable as a Thief game despite differences. If T4 is anything like the above described, I may kill.

Except no publisher
ever announces
everything they're going to show at E3 beforehand. Do you really think they're only going to be there with 8 games, three of which are coming out before the end of the quarter?
