Man, these auditorium presentations with the headset-mic guys introducing new games are so embarrassing to watch. And then the audience cheers wildly when the character creation screen is revealed.
Yeah, I felt the same watching some of them. It's cringe-inducing hearing people cheer when FO4 combat switches to VATS mode or they find the super shotgun in Doom. It's like I'm watching a prequel to Idiocracy or something.

Hey, Rebellion is still around? How's that even possible, after so many shitty games they released over a decade or so?
The Sniper Elite games weren't bad! Not
great, but decent enough if you're trawling the bargain bins for some decent stealth and grisly sniping.
And they also made, uh... uh...
*checks wikipedia* Rogue Warrior! Yeah ok, it is a bit strange they're still around.

During the Squeenix live show yesterday the guy said they're "putting the Tomb back in Tomb Raider" . . . .
Jesus. It's the douche-chill inducing comments, like that for example, from these people that make me ashamed to play their games. What's next: "We're putting the Hit back in Hitman"? Or, "We're putting the Cause back in Just Cause"?
It's like saying, "We're putting the cum back in porn". Hurray! Now tell me, where did the cum go in the first place?
And I have to say, I finally killed the Fuhrer in Sniper Elite v2. I expect some sort of check for destroying evil.

Not a good analogy.(lol
analogy) The most common complaint against the last Tomb Raider was that it
was short on tombs. So hearing the devs say that they're focusing more on tombs is something we wanna hear, no matter how cornily it's said.

I liked that FFVII remake trailer.
I listened to you with rapt attention, my remembrance of our previous conversation burning hotly in my minds eye. I will not forget that the future is now. I laughed at this thought like a geyser bursting thousands of gallons of hot, steaming water into the sky. "I agree with you entirely", I spoke to my friend, "these words you say do make sense to me in some profound way".
I sat upon the precipice of a fond farewell, remembering the summers we spent together as I slowly weaved the songs of our friendship together into a beautiful hymn. "Do you not see", I asked forcefully, "what time we have together is the here and now, not the later. We must seize it as two birds becoming one. Like all humans do".

I would love to get excited over the new Rise of the Tomb Raider... really... I would. But this whole business of first being an Xbox One/360 exclusive & then being a timed exclusive has been a total turn off. I have a very powerful rig to play anything the previous game could toss at me & then some. And even though it didn't have that many tombs... I still quite enjoyed it. But this timed exclusive business just feels like a big F U from these franchises were originally multi-platform. For the life of me, I really don't care what they add or design for this new game... I'm simply not at all interested.
And in other news... guess which developer that got their start in PC games, (

So being short on tombs was kind of a (... wait for it ...) shortcoming, eh?

I felt it as more a dearth of raiding.
