Did you get a chance to look at the new kirby game?

My Deus Ex: Human Revolution interview is now live! Sorry it took so long but my real job got in the way and transcribing two guys with very thick accents in a noisy setting took some time to decipher.
Here are a few of the questions I asked: How deep do the RPG elements go? Do our choices have a global effect in the game? Can you complete the game without killing anyone? Will there be different ammo types? Will there be support for motion controls since there will be console releases? Will any characters from previous games make an appearance? And there is more...
I'm no games journalist but I did my best so I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think.

A reboot of the IP, huh. Well I'm not too worried about that, but interesting to note.
My expectations aren't as high for this as they were for DX:IW, so I'm not as prone to pick it apart and more likely to take things in stride.
What caught my attention, as far as game-design goes, was the emphasis he gave to multiple ways to get through a level, which implies that levels are quite open and non-linear and you have a lot of freedom as a player. That to me was always the touch-stone of what made Deus Ex the great game it was, sort of the heart of why it was important. The only catch is that "multiple ways" can mean multiple things, not necessarily that the levels will be very open and free-roaming and you have a strong feeling of freedom as a player (like the original Hong Kong), but it's nice to hear him talking about it anyway.

Different ammo types, but not different ammo per weapon?

I don't have a problem with that. The original DX gave the player so much crap to keep track of that half the time I forgot I even had alternate ammo. I think the only one I ever cared about was the uber-rare explosive rounds.

I believe it's lethal and nonlethal types for every weapon, so not shared ammo

Ah, that alleviates some of the concern I had. Thankee kindly.

Oh, the HE rounds for the assault rifle? Yeah, that was the shit, especially if you hadn't bothered upping your heavy weapons skill.

Strictly speaking the statement is ambiguous (it seems to me). He could mean there are different general ammo types (normal, anti-personnel, explosive, etc) but shared across weapons (so it's not different per weapon; they all, or some, get the same types).
Or he could mean each weapon gets its own ammo type (pistol, shotgun, sniper rifle, machine gun), so different ammo types that aren't shared, but each weapon gets just that one type for itself, but not multiple types per weapon (another reading of "not different [ammo types] per weapon")
It seems Eldron took the second reading (edit: or I guess a variation of it -- different types per weapon, each gets a lethal and non-lethal type, but those types themselves aren't shared across weapons, but then I don't think he'd use the phrase "not different per weapon" for that), but it sounds to me like he meant the first situation. Actually reading it again, I can't tell 100% one way or the other, so maybe we need a clarifying question, can ammo be shared across weapons or not.

The way I understand it, it means that there will be multiple ammo types, and that ammo can be used by all weapons. In other words, the first explanation.
