I'm probebly being very stupid but did Thief 2 have an E3 demo that was different to the Thieves highway demo? It's just in the Thief 2 'Books' CRFfile, there are two files titled 'E3Mage1' and 'E3Mage2' which don't seam to fit with anybit of the game i know. E3Mage1 i think is very intresting as a MAJOR Link to Thief 1...
Anyone know what this are?

i don't think i have played 'The Unwelcome Guest'.. the only demo i played was Thieves highway, the start of Life of the Party... i'll look around for that..
any it's a shame because the E3Mage1 file sounded soo good to tie T2 with T1.. a group looking for the Talisman of Fire and found out Garrett took it.. Oh well. What was that Gold Demo like? again, the only demo i played was Bafford's Manor

The Unwelcome Guest is the name of the heavily-modified Demo version of Life of the Party.:) Garrett is unwelcome to be a guest at the party.:cheeky:

The "Thieves' Highway" is our affectionate term for what made that mission so pleasurable, and when we talk about the OMs and Thieves' Highway, that's the mission we're thinking of.:thumb:
Viktoria: "Security at the tower will be extra heavy with the City's nobility in attendance, so gaining entrance will be difficult."
Garrett: "For you, maybe. But I won't be knocking on the front door. The rooftops aren't called the Thieves' Highway for nothing."
M11B15: "G,
Got some news for ya. A guy named Valencia just entered Dayport, and he's only there for a couple of days. He's some kinda diamond exporter...deals with rough stones. Well, while he's in town, he's storing a pouch of uncut diamonds at the Dayport Trader's Bank. Security there is supposed to be pretty loose -- hell, the place is on the top floor of one of them marble buildings, so they must not expect any company, if you know what I mean. Should be fairly straightforward, if you take the 'thieves' highway.'"
"You claim you're the best, now prove it. Take to the 'Thieves' Highway' and grab 1550 worth of loot."
No wonder, eh?
From TDS, gar1410: "There are some good rooftops in Old Quarter...they don't call it the Thieves' Highway for nothing."

yeah.. i know the term, it is an old one and i have known it apply to both rooftops and sewers before Thief came out.. Must have been where i picked up the name ^_^

The point being that the game impresses it upon you three times for that one level.:)

It's weird, but the E3Mage files are from the E3
Thief Gold Demo, and there are many
Thief Gold assets in TMA's folders. TMA did have a demo that was different than the official game,
The Unwelcome Guest, but it was the official public demo, and didn't include those earth mages.
Link it, PLEASE! :)
