I thought this was quite amusing - EA's forthcoming game Mercenaries 2 apparently uses petrol as a currency. Playing on the current high price of fuel in the UK (about US$14 a gallon, fact fans) (
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7599639.stm) EA took over a service station and offered £20,000 worth of free fuel in up to £40 doses to motorists.
Also spotted in the featured photo is a very brave EA employee with what I assume to be a plastic rifle, hoping against hope that SO19 doesn't turn up to shoot her for terrism.

Semi off-topic: Is petrol really £20/gal over there?
Matthew on 5/9/2008 at 17:13
Nah, that was a bit of hyperbole, as I'd heard that price touted without working it out myself. Prices here are generally given in litres. Petrol now costs about 110 pence per litre, and there are 3.79 litres in a US gallon. So that's £4.17 per US gallon, or about $7.36 per US gallon.

I picked up gas for $3.59/gal the other day, best price I've seen in weeks.

I just filled up for $3.39/Gal :D

not to pull the Political Debacle thread in here, but I fully expect US gas prices to continue to drop until after the election.

I certainly fucking hope so! I drive around 30 miles every day, a lot of it at 15mph thanks to traffic.

Use a bicycle. It's leaner, meaner, and greener. Faster in rush hour and doesn't cost $$$ too. It's mucho cool in these mucho hot times, amigo!
Of course, I don't practise what I preach, but it feels good to dole out useless advice! :D
