I'm concerning myself over a small thing? What the hell is this whole EA business about rather than a bunch of people being concerned over a small thing?

Because in America, crappy DRM and overpriced games are far more important issues than things like fraudulent foreclosures, rigging municipal bids, enabling illegal eavesdropping on all Americans, knowing reliance on slave labor, and contributing to the sub-prime crisis......to name just a few of the actions committed by the other companies that were nominated for the golden poo.

I hate it when we're in agreement. Good thing it doesn't happen often.

I wonder who the gamers that vote in these polls are. I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of them play, and enjoy, EA's games but feel bad about it since "Call of Duty" and "Mass Effect 3" have become such dirty words in the gamer community.

Angry pubescent Redditors and 4channers.

LOL, the whole anti-gay hate mail news and being voted the worst company in America are completely separate current events. They just happened to break at almost the same time.
The latter voting was basically hijacked by a mass-campaign of degenerates from 4Chan, NeoGAF and maybe the Something Awful forums and Reddit as well. Those would've almost entirely been about being butthurt over on-disc DLC, Mass Effect 3's ending, buying and raping of studios, online passes, DRM, etc.
It's ridiculous to even fathom that EA is worse than Bank of America.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Yeah this. But, why not.

The very fact that EA won twice should give you an idea of the voter demographic. "Representative sampling" of america this is not.
Still, even accounting for that, there's also the fact that EA might (just possibly maybe) listen to this. I mean, sure, their spokesperson is trotting out some prime horseshit, but at least they issued a response.
None of the shit CCCToad lists would ever change in response to an internet poll conducted by some random not-for-profit online consumer report body. Nominating "bank of america" will just get you a shrug and utterly unaltered business practices.

This is a pop culture sideshow, not a relevant gauge of important issues. It's well known that anything left to the vote is generally going to give results which reflect the lowest common denominator (I still remember a radio poll which found that Lady Gaga was the greatest musician OF ALL TIME...). Best not to pay attention to, or be surprised by such things.
Most people say that they think democracy is the best system, until it conflicts with their personal opinions, then it just means that people are morons because they're wrong. I don't necessarily disagree.

Not things like ME3 and SimCity being a mess.
ME3 wasn't a mess.

It was a bit of a PR nightmare though. TO the extent that they felt the pressure enough to create an appended ending.
