For some reason, I cannae get the pretty pictures to work with my system...
I install them, load up TDS and ... STILL MIT DER SCAR, even though I installed the noscar option!!
Could someone provide me with a helpful tip? Am I just not getting something??

If you downloaded the
JohnP.s_Garrett_Face_Without_Scar_Released_June_11th_2004.exe file, and ran it, the face without scar
should turn up ingame.
But:
* Do you have the full version of the game(not demo)?
* Did the installer point to your Thief - Deadly Shadows
root directory(main/first folder)? If it doesn't by default, then browse to it.
* Are your .ibt file Properties set to Read Only(they shouldn't be)?
Other than those things, I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Haven't tried this yet, but I have a question: where did you get the high-res textures? Are they hidden in the game somewhere and the installer just unlocks them? Or did some artisan paint new high-resolution textures and they're included in the installer?

These are high resolution(well, higher than default anyway) textures made by me. That is to say, I've repainted the originals to some degree.
So these are not 'official' Ion Storm textures.
-But on the other hand, you won't get official high res textures from Ion Storm, so...

Holy crap, excellent work John! I can't wait to try this when I get home! If the game looks anything like your screen grabs, then you did some fine, fine work!

Very good work. Although the textures blur when you turn the camera around. As if they went back to their old state. Shifts between the old and new textures. Old while you are moving. New when you are not moving the camera.

John P., your Garrett textures are awesome. Thanks!
I'm curious if your brown/copper frob highlight is available anywhere seperately from the misc. texture pack on your website? I'd like to use it, but don't want the rest of the changes in that pack.

Hm, that's weird. Can't say I've seen that myself. I'll look into it.
My textures even have premade mip maps.
Maybe it just looks like the old ones take over when you move because of a 'motion blur', or perhaps the game goes into a state of inbetween antialiasing, bloom and no antialiasing when you move fast? That happened sometimes in DX:IW, which is basically the same engine. But thanks for the tip; I'll definetly have a look at it.
[edit]Take a look at (

I'm in the process of making 'lighter' and more effective installers now, and I'll try to make all the textures separate options that you can tick/untick in the installer interface next time. Plus add a few more textures.
