i have in fact done this with my version of thief 3. i've made the title screen that cool picture of garrett looking over the city (in blue, not yellow like the wallpaper) and used a new title screen loader which i found in the textures folder which is not used anywhere else. i want to share it but i dont quite know who to send the files to. any help would be much appreciated!

Heya John P, your textures are amazing! Now that Ive seen it, I dont think I can stand playing Thief 3 without it. Thanks for sharing your work! Any dates as to when we can get some wall textures? :D
Question John P, how do you make normal maps? And what program do you use to export and import texture files? I'd like to try editing the wall textures myself. :) Please help me.

Wow, it's been a coupla years, but I wonder if anyone, particularly the maker of these textures, would be interested in emailing me a copy? The link for them is down....:erg:
Help would be appreciated, but isn't expected on a thread this old...:p

It's just my bandwidth limit for this month that's exceeded. It will be up again tomorrow. :)
(btw, I think this is a very old thread, and that there's a newer one around here somewhere that I made when I had made my latest texture pack)

Alright, thanks! Cheers for the response, too, I really wasn't expecting much. :D

I get IBT patcher error, path not found when I try to install... =(
I have the minimalist project installed as well, could that affect it?

I get IBT patcher error, path not found when I try to install... =(
This is because ibt_patcher.exe expects the registry path to the game install to be exactly like it is in the install folders.
In other words, it looks in the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Ion Storm | Thief - Deadly Shadows | ION_ROOT in order to find the install folder path, but the registry path has to end without a backslash, or have two backslashes in a row, or other weirdness like that.
The registry path should look like this (as an EXAMPLE):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Ion Storm | Thief - Deadly Shadows | ION_ROOT | D:\Eidos\Thief - Deadly ShadowsThe important thing is that the game install path at the end there looks like that, and not like this:
D:\Eidos\Thief - Deadly Shadows\, or this:
D:\Eidos\\Thief - Deadly ShadowsIt has to be exactly as it is in the game install folder.
What causes the registry path to be incorrect I don't know - well, actually I know one thing that will cause it, and that's the
Thief3Launcher.exe that people use to switch between editing the game with the editor, and playing the game. This .exe changes the registry path by adding a backslash to it at the end. So I guess other programs perhaps do the same, maybe GarrettLoader(?).
[edit] Heh - you should know, since if I'm not mistaken, you've created Thief3Launcher.exe! :) Sorry, didn't realize at first. [/edit]
If you're confident in altering things in the registry you can change it yourself. Just edit the registry entry so that the registry path to the game looks exactly like the folder path to the game's root folder.
Be careful though - editing the registry may cause trouble with your whole system if you do it wrong.

Thanks for the info. I'll change Thief3Launcher so it doesn't add that extra backslash. =)
