I can't remember the last game I played that was easy enough to be insulting. Then again I haven't touched my PS2 in a long time except to watch movies.

Zelda: The Windwaker was depressingly easy, puzzles were as good as ever but the combat needed no skill whatsoever.

i can't comment on the easy mode for some games because I usualy played the normal mode, (nowadays I select the hard mode immediately) but since POP did have no diff. settings at all, I would say, yeah it was very easy, just like Assassins Creed was very easy. but to call it insulting is a little too much, diff. is subjective, some player will find it's just the right diff. I'd rather say that the REMOVAL of difficulty settings (and how diff. is scaled, developed today - namely NOT) is an insult.

I actually don't agree with the second part of that statement so much, but yeah, this was the first game that came to mind. Twilight Princess was more satisfying for me.

Vanilla NWN2 is a pretty easy game, for the most part. To its detriment. The battles only really get interesting (read: require a modicum of tactical intelligence) about 80% of the way into the game. Wouldn't surprise me if most people had given up by then.

Going through as a thief right now. The levels between 14-20 were hard as hell, but the enemies stopped leveling with me at around level 20. With a decent sneak skill and Chameleon enchantments (acquired through non-cheesy methods), most of the game afterward has been ridiculously easy.
