Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazzard, I took one for the team... - by warcrow

I originally played the game because I was interested in the narrative--a video game that is self-aware! But it turns out that the gameplay is not good at all.
Here is a excerpt from my blog:
Quote:
In one particular instance Matt Hazzard has to fight some of the enemies from his first game and they are literally 2-D sprites running around shooting at you. The real clever part is they purposefully become more difficult to hit by turning to their sides thinning themselves.
But all this great material is simply overshadowed by the real issue--the gameplay. Thought it replicates Gears of War in this regard, it fails to be engaging. The weapons have little-to-no kickback and lack any sort of originality. The AI is none existent and possibly more inferior to the PB&J sandwich I had for lunch today. The quick-time events are slow and far too crude to be entertaining. The game is so unbalanced I completed 75% of a level performing melee attacks that—when performed at the right moment--seemingly render you invincible.

If you're going to put something on the Internet with the intention of people reading it, the least you can do is a little proofreading.

Thanks for the input guys. :) The really sad thing is I did proof read the post. I'm really a bad writer, but I love video games. I'm trying to improve.
Perhaps I'll just rely on you guys to help fix my bad grammar! (I kid, I kid)
That being said, did anyone want to talk about the game? :)

Like a lot of things in the world this game seemed to have a lot of really amusing ideas that aren't very well executed. Funny in hindsight (comedic death if ever there was). "Duke Nukem" going back and fighting sprites from is old game. Some bit where he crossess over into Final Fantasy world and has to fight some ludicrous goddess with a big sword. The potential is huge. From the clips I could see the game was thick with funny ideas, but they just didn't raise a laugh at all.
Sounds like it isn't very good as a game either.
