Hi all, haven't posted here in a looooong time, just wondering how I can add to...
(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031)
As I have some new information that makes the indeo codecs in t2 work without any fiddling at all, haven't tested it in t1 though.
Since the reason I did this was to make t2x work, it might be of interest to people trying to reinstall t2 on xp in order to run t2x
btw I tried emailing azal but the message bounced for some reason???

Upper right hand corner. The word, 'private messages'. ;)

Erm... *dazed look* :erm:
I'm fearing I'm missing something very obvious! I don't see anything relating to PM or Private Message?? I can PM some people by clicking on the link of their username on the left side of this page you're reading now, but....
Maybe Azal has chosen not be PM-able???
*jumps up and down waving arms* AZAL!!!!! *whistle whistle shout wave*

I suggest you post your solution first as it will not be added to the FAQ until it has been verfied to work. :)

aaaah, good thinking bat man!
Well.... I followed the excellent guide at (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031) and after some googling I think I've found "another" way to make the indeo codec work in windows xp (pro. in my case), I tried all the suggestions noted in the guide but I've found what appears to be a later version of the codec "before" you had to buy it, here... (
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Indeo_Codec.htm) I installed this and the title eidos video came up instead of the normal indeo error and crash "do you want to send details" prompt! The ingame movies work fine too and they also now work in realplayer by double clicking them in the /MOVIES directory, which wasn't the case before
So it looks like this fixes it without any regsvr32 fiddling!
Hope that helps some people?

 You don't see this....
Inline Image:

I think another problem with the indeo codecs though, is that they work for a time in XP, but then stop working out of the blue. I'll try these though, and see what happens. :)

Ah right!!! That explains it, no I don't see it as it's not there! I thought "either I'm being really stupid here or...." Should I have set something so I can see that, maybe I don't have "use PM's" set in my preferences or something???

Aaaah yes! It's under "Edit Options" as "Enable Private Message" in your "User CP", :tsktsk: I've never had a need for it before so no wonder I've got it switched off! :laff:
