I'm having trouble trying to open up and edit a fan mission on the T3ed editor. I can edit the original missions that came with the game, but not missions that were made by fans. How do I open the correct file to edit a mission made by a fan?

If there are no source files, you can't. You need .unr map file and all the resources. Most of the stuff, maps, textures, and scripts included, is packed in .ibt files and you can't edit those.

Oh ok, I see. Because I can edit fan missions on Dromed with the original Thief games for both Thief Gold and Thief 2. So for Thief Deadly Shadows, it's not allowed if you don't know the source files then. I guess I can only edit the original missions that come with the game and just create my own missions. I can't touch the custom missions made by fans, what a bummer. I do not see the .unr map file in any fan mission zip folder, so it's locked basically for anyone to edit the mission because the owner of the mission wouldn't like anyone modifying their creations.

If the author is still around you could ask nicely for the .unr?
Why do you want them at this point anyway? You can learn plenty from the original maps.

Yeah, It's totally understandable. If you are stuck on a fan mission that someone else made and you're trying to modify it just to make it easier so you can explore the mission more freely such as deleting locked doors so you can enter the area that you couldn't do before. Yeah, that was actually a reason why I got frustrated with a fan mission called "Special Vintage" The gate is locked and I can't use the lockpicks to unlock it. There should be a walkthrough somewhere on Youtube or on TTLG site. But I guess, I can learn from the original missions to create or edit my own.

The usual course of action would be to use developer console commands to do that, stuff like noclip or similar, not to edit someone's map. Don't remember specific commands for TDS, but I think there were at least a few.

Oh ok, I see what you mean. The console commands should help. Maybe, I don't know the console commands by memory, but yeah there are probably a few. Really? There's a special tool that's made for cheating? Thanks, I'll check this out then. Hopefully you don't I'm being a taffer by asking for a way to cheat my way into beating this mission, haha!
