See, the T-shirt and merch market is all about the cred. Old School sells way better than new (Led Zeppelin shirts, anyone?), but it can still be used for marketing new products within brands (as Iron Maiden knows very well)

Some good points! I'll be bringing them to the attention of those in charge.
I myself would love a shirt that just says something like "Must've been the wind..."!!

I bet they've already printed up 10,000 of each, and someone in the merch department is going "Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" right about now.

Oh, good! I'm so glad you're around, René! :D
Your "Must've been the wind..." idea gave ME an idea.

That's what Sara Verrilli was photographed as wearing here:

In my email, I didn't go into designing
new and original slogan T-shirts, like those sold by (
http://tshirthell.com) tshirthell.com, (
http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/all/) thinkgeek.com, and a thousand other wisecracking smartass net stores worldwide.
How about putting fans to work? Set up contest or two for DX3 AND TH4. Make
us come up with funny slogans, witty remarks, beautiful design ideas & mockups etc., related to the EM franchises. One could have lots of different categories for this contest. I'm rattling off the top of my head NSFW, pure EM promo, no words, front/back, JC/Garrettwear, whatever.
Let a jury (of which you, René, obviously need to be a member, so you can get that "Must've been the wind..." shirt) decide on the best ideas, which are then handed over to your designers for quick implementation and production. And in the store they go.
EM gains cred for being cool cats and setting this thing up, but the fans gain cred
TWICE OVER, in that they both participate in making the EM merchandise,
and that they get to wear the maddest official game gear around.
You should at least set your sights on one-upping BioShock in the merch arena, in any case:

Dear lord, the international shipping is steep! 23.99 USD for the two t-shirts is a bit too much, and requires some further consideration before I can decide whether it's worth it or not. I want them badly, but... maybe not that badly. :erg:
