v1.08 is due on Tuesday. It is to be the first real 'gameplay' patch since release.
It will also activate multiplayer. Some pretty cool looking features (http://forums.elementalgame.com/396173) here.

I just asked for a partial (75%) refund. It seems that you can only get a full one if you have technical difficulties. I've had as many crashes as the next guy but it's a hassle to go through with trying to prove it etc. The last time I felt like this was when I pre-ordered Deus Ex:IW. At least I don't buy into hype all that often, but when I do I really pick the stinkers.

I realised that I hadn't played since the first few days after release. Don't have any urge to. When I try to imagine it becoming something I'd want to play, it just seems so very far off.

I think that was misunderstood, the numbers that came out was this:

100% of the people who asked for refund due to technical issues were granted that.

75% of the people who asked for refund due to other reasons were granted that.

There has never been any partial refund, all refunds are always full.

Interesting development:
Derek "Kael" Paxton - creator of the super popular "Fall From Heaven" mod for Civ 4 - has been hired by Stardock as Senior Producer on Elemental going forward.
This comes shortly after the announced cancellation of the standalone "Fall From Heaven" game. Now we know why.
Brad Wardell had already announced that he was stepping away from Elemental somewhat, remaining only as Executive Producer and AI Programmer, while bringing in someone new to act as a day-to-day Producer.

The two could still be related though, since Stardock canceled their second game/ dev group once Elemental got into its troubles. For all we know that game was the FFH one. It would make sense given the timing and the quick way Kael got picked up by them.

v1.1 has been released, which is a the first major patch designed to completely overhaul a lot of the game design.

I'll check it out while I wait for the Civ patch coming in the next few days :cheeky:
