Originally posted by smithpd I am playng Virtue in Expert. I have all the objectives except I am missing 15 of 200 loot. After that, it is CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-END After painstakingly scouring that mansion for what seemed like endless hours searching for little coins standing on edge (I came up 20 short) I finally gave up and did a CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-END. I hardly ever do this but it ceased to be fun and one more minute in that mansion would've found me curling up in some dark corner to cry. Then I went to the next level and had to get my brain twisted around that one. Oh the fun that lies ahead!

Gah! I played for so long on the second mission and now find out I'm stuck. Without the sword in 'hell'! You think they would've beta-tested this one more to make sure one couldn't get stuck there without getting the sword. And here I am with 100 arrows (I lured an archer into a warehouse and hopped onto the crate, letting him vent his anger on me by firing plenty of 'em into the crate :p), and an indestructible Flashbomb (dare I say flashbomb upgrade!!! :D), and I have to reload? You're taffing me! Oh man, I really wish this magical Flashbomb could open the door..
Does anyone know how hard it is to kill two ravenous haunts with only a blackjack? Even with the indestructible flashbomb, damn! :cheeky:
EDIT: Woohoo, JIS rocks after all! I don't need to restart :)
If you're stuck in the cathedral without the sword (which is apparently outside the doors), just go down the right stairs, into the first door (with the haunt and holy water font -- just before the prison and watcher) and look for a button on the wall above and to the right of the font. Go into the left room and hop onto the table. The painting has moved and reveals a switch, which opens the cathedral doors!
Deadman,
Not only that, but it is possible to ghost past those two haunts, so you don't really need the sword.
As soon as you flip the switch on the cross, then creep very fast yet quietly past their curtains to a corner by the door. It's a 50-50 chance they don't come out.
I think there are other places, however, where the sword may be needed.

Originally posted by Livak I think this mission is not worth downloading at all. It is very boring, but maybe that's something Japanese we western people don't understand. Apparently you feel the need to make all us other 'Westerners' to be closeminded (perhaps racist?) assholes, but I don't think the rest of us are cool with that. So, in the future, speak for yourself.
And don't complain about BitTorrent. You're getting the file. You don't have to pay FilePlanet to burn it on a CD and wait 4-6 weeks, now do you? Of course, I don't blame you for your ignorance. BitTorrent isn't perfect or
always a constant, fast speed. Neither is just about any other sort of transferring. So it's either that or getting it from a place like #Thief-FMs, which shares all the big packs (as we aren't under the fancies of webspace providers who only allow a certain amount of transfer per month).
But again, speak for yourself. I tend to like this pack a lot; the second mission in itself is sprawling and has many unique environs to explore. Regardless of my feelings, I would
NEVER have the gall to suppose my entire nation liked or disliked it, and I don't think you have the right to speak for us either.

I think I found the
betrayer....There is a really, really mean bad--- guard across from the bar in an alley that has a key on him, but he is killing me!!!!! Does this key open the cells?
Need more help please.:eww:
or the door by the cells?
Hmph! I think I'm missing an entirely new section! All I've done is retrace my steps from the earlier level. No new keys, no new levers, although I pulled all the old ones.
The blood and the fallen vase at the boat are new, but I can't find anything else. The rope arrows seem useless - nowhere to sink one! The tower by the boat has a room, and the guard who walks the brick bridge between the pub and the holy water font have areas I'd *love* to access, but no joy.
Corey, what cells? I'll look for this man you speak of! Perhaps it's different on Expert?
Cheers!

Yay! I completed Virtue in Expert. Downed all the guards including the Darth Vader types, and got all 200 of the loot. Whew! :D Has anyone else done it?

Game results for me:
If you get passed virtue, get ready for the ride of your life!
I have been going thru puzzle after puzzle and wound up at a water tunnel that shoots you up way high into the air at an entrance to a new area and takes the rest of yur health.
And at this point its goodbye game!
Good luck to anyone who can find a single vile of health to stay alive long enough to finish this FM.
Jis definetely has a way of dealing with taffers on his turf.
Its like being a Thief with a death wish.

Apache had something like that in one of his FM's. You had to position or move yourself the right way in order to land in a safe spot (a small pond). Maybe there is some trick to this one, too. We will see. Thanks for the warning, dealasteal.
When I take damage in a FM, particularly one by JIS, I always ask myself, What is the trick to avoid it? Usually there is one. For example, there was one Japanese mission where you had to jump a long way to your apparent death. The trick was to drop something and jump onto it in mid flight - a move I could never master. I'm not saying that is the trick here. I hope not.
