Thanks, Kiz. That did the trick.
I don't believe as many times as I swam around there that I didn't once see the book. And I was looking for anything around that body too!
Thanks again.

coreyb2,
About that door you're trying to get through - here's a hint....
there isn't a key to that door. There is another method to opening the door. Check your inventory.

The only thing I have in inventory is the BJ and I've tried that...it didn't work on the metal door. OH no not the water arrows that I used outside. Dang!!!! Will have to restart, don't have the beginning saves.
:erg:

Starting with a good position in mission 2, just hit CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-END together, and the mission will end there. Then you should be able to proceed to the next mission. Try this, and if it doesn't work post back. I can send you the file if necessary.
The mission will end when you enter the rotunda on the other side of the lava, provided you have all other objectives completed, other than "don't kill any person" which completes at the very end.
I frobbed the book in the water, BJ'd/killed the angry man with the key, then went to the mansion and unlocked the doors into the garden with the two eye plants. Climbed the ladder/roped up to the upper level, and found the button behind the throne. Cool.
Back down, and now there's an opening to a room with two treebeasts, two apemen, a keeper and very little shadow. And me with no arrows. I assume this is the end point, since I haven't found Cutty's item yet...
So back to the cells to see if anything had changed by pushing the button - nope.
Back to the VERY well protected keeper - maybe he has my key, even though he's supposed to be the last objective? I run in at full speed, and an objective ticks off to the sound of opening doors and my abrupt demise at the hand (limb?) of a tree beast.
So... anyone know where to find the key to the cells? I suspect that's next...
EDIT:
Nevermind, I finally found it. If anyone else is stuck, highlight here:
Go all the way back to the warehouse. Mantle up to the top of one of the crates. Set a rope arrow in the edge of the upper balcony between to railings. Leap over onto the rope, mantle up, and you'll see a purple box.
So many locked doors and inaccessible areas in that level - argh!
Regarding the final mission - would anyone be willing to translate the text in the briefing? I'm curious :)
Cheers!

playing the later part of mission again, and many retrys at getting to next mission from
just before entering where there are 2 guards standing and I assume the keeper in
the room to the left (I drank speed potion and sped around a bit and looked hoping
for a non crash outcome - no mercy!). I was playing the default mode, so only objective
was to tell keeper.
Thats why I wanted a 'savegame' for the beginning of mission 3!!
so, *** Still need a savegame at beginning of mission 3 (factory), please someone!! ****

ToadTadWater,
I have e-mailed you the save game. The e-mail file (when encoded) was just over 2 MB. The sav file is less. Hope it works. I am really surprized that ending the mission did not work.

Melissa,
I am having exactly the same problem as you right now.
I found something really bizarre regarding the two tree beasts and the two ape beasts in the keeper's room.
If you BJ an ape beast, he transforms into a servant with a green tunic and then falls down. If you BJ a treebeast, he transforms into a pagan woman, who walks around stooped over and sounds like a tree beast. LOL:D I have done plenty of BJ'ing of these things before and never seen anything like that. If you kill a treebeast by backstabbing it with a sword, he falls dead and looks like a tree beeast.
Anyway, that is how I am proceeding with those AI to reduce the resistance when I finally have to go back to the keeper.
In the meanwhile I am looking for Cutty's article, and I am still trying to find entrance to some cell doors and another metal door.

I thought 8 was the last mission but I'm now into 9 and can't read the objectives.
I've found the lockpicks, gold and rope arrows down in the lava pit. Finally got out of there back up to the top!!! But what now?
It would really help
if I could read the objectives, books and wall notices. Don't know what I'm looking for.
Need some help!  Thanks.

According to JIS, Men's tale is just a tribute to some of his friends. There is nothing to do there. In view of that, he decided against trying to translate them. I was off by one in my count of missions. I think you are done. Congratulations.
OK, now that you have all this spare time, how about a little hint on opening some of those metal doors (cells and one in a guard station that goes up stairs). Or, if those are blind leads, please let us know, and give us a hint as to where to find Cutty's article.:)
