Where are all the spiders and mechanist servant and the cells everyone is talking about? We haven't seen any of them and haven't gotten any water arrows. We are heading to the keeper past the tree beasts and apemen. Have we missed something somewhere else?

Right now, I'm stuck deep in the final mission, in the cathedral area with the children and the caged bugbeast. It looks like the cage is meant to open, but I have yet to find a means of doing so.
I've roped my way into the rafters, and there doesn't appear to be anything helpful up there, unless I'm overlooking something.

FINISHED!
Man, that last level was the mission-that-never-ends.
Worth it, though, if only for
that bit where you get to ride the clouds. Beautiful effect. Reminded me of Goku's flying nimbus in Dragonball.
That bit was cool.

Some of you have moved on to 9 and some are finished... please, oh please, could you spoil me on how you got past the section with the statue and the purple spitball?
Thanks!

In the message above you mention the area with the 2 apemen and the table and lava pit below. What do you do there to get to the next area? We're stuck!
After blackjack both apemen, toss 'em down and follow them. Then put each body in the lava pit. Turn around, and there's be a letter on the table. It's in Japanese, so who knows what it says!
If you figure out the next one, PLEASE let me know! I'm utterly stuck!
Cheers!

Melissa and Old Man,
I was confused by your original description. You mentioned two ape beasts and a servant as is they were in the same place. They are in different sections. Also, you mentioned spit balls, which I usually think of as those purple acid things. In fact, the place in question has small fireballs. OK, now that I know where you are, I can tell you the answer.
Go in the unlocked door with the statue. Stay near the wall and some distance from the target of the fireballs, so you won't be burned. Immediately after a fireball hits the target crystal, run to the crystal and hit it with your blackjack. The other door will open. Go into the other room, and you are transported to the next puzzle.
Remember earlier when I said it could be anything, including hitting an object with a BJ? That is what I had in mind.:)
This is not a TTLG initiation. It is JIS toying with you. You haven't seen anything yet.;) It gets even more fun, and mission 9 has even more.
There is always a pattern somewhere involving interaction with objects or AI or both, and you just have to find the right interaction. Sometimes it is obvious, and sometimes not, but after you find the pattern it is usually clear. I solved the ape beast and the fireball puzzles by the process of elimination, asking myself, "What have I not tried yet?" In the case of the fireballs, there is really not much to play with there, so not many combinations to try.

I have finished the last mission (9), Men's Tale, playing on Expert. It was a real hummer. It seemed to go on forever. I though several times, "this is the end", but it was just a gateway to another section. I thought the design of mission 9 was extremely immaginative and fun to play.
The objectives in mission 9 are in Japanese. Don't let that bother you. As the objectives kept piling up, and I did not meet any of them, I was starting to get worried. No need. It all resolves itself at the very end. It would be nice to know what they said, however. Something about a professor, JUN, and TACOS.
Ladies, be warned. There are some pictures in mission 9 that you may find offensive. My advice is just ignore them and proceed. It is a fun mission.
Thank you very much JIS! I enjoyled playing EMT2.:D

Thanks, smithpd, I'll give that a whirl. BTW, I noticed the fireballs didn't start right at the statue. In fact, you can stand right in frontt of the statue, face to face, and the fireballs start behind your back. Dunno what, if anything, that may mean. Thanks again.
