McEve,
I'm guessing the red key is later after you take care of the mansion you're trying to get to now. To complete Transiency just find the mansion with the two practice dummies out front and wack both dummies with your sword.
Well, I have clubbed everyone and have wandered everywhere, no keys, at least 2 locked doors, and know not what to do next???? Help!, where is this 'red key' I have seen mentioned? And what does it open? I have 'sworded' the 2 dummies but no new open doors, I am stuck!!
Thanks for any direction/help! :)))

Thanks heaven for that ToadTadWater! I was beginning to think I was the only one managing to get stuck it this point!:erm:
I've done what ToadTadWater has - and severaltimes too, but still have no clue where to go or what to do.
I believe we need the red key to proceed, I know which door it's supposed to open anyways...
More hints needed :erg:

The red key
is on a guy in an alleyway just outside the door of, and across the street from, a tavern. I think there are three taverns in this mission. At least two, anyway. I don't have the mission loaded so I can't check it, but I think that the tavern in question is the one that is on the way to the warehouse area. It is possible that the guy is not there until you do something else. I don't know. Have you flipped the switch in the submarine area, in the place you get to with an underwater swim? I could not determine what that switch did.
Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong.

I was only playing on Normal so the red key may be in a different place on other settings but I found it
by finding a warehouse yard, very near the dock with the submarine beside it, swimming down in the water there and opening a door at the bottom. Inside that area there was a chest and the key was inside it.
The only water I can find is where the metal boat is, (with a door I can't open *surprise* :tsktsk: ) which is right outside one of the taverns. Can't find anything to flip or swim through there either.
I've never been so lost in any mission as I am in this one! :weird: I'm pretty close to giving up on it actually :p
Nightwalker on 26/10/2003 at 03:22
You're almost there is you're near the submarine. Turn around and walk back into the passageway, past the Tavern door and at the end, turn left, then right. You should end up in the area I meant. There's some deep water on the left. Dive down and look for the doors on the right at the bottom.

Oh my goodness, I don't believe I've walked past there so many times without seeing the possibility of a left turn.... something somewhere I stumbled must have opened that path...? I'm so sure of it as the builder himself! beacuse it can't be me being blind as a bat I'm sure  :joke:
Still confusing with all the objects that seems frobbable, but don't do anything... like the fountain in the small courtyard, the lamps, the note on the wall....
Well. I'm stumbling onwards - *that a'way... ---->*
Thanks!
(I'm playing on hard btw - guess I should have mention that...)

Ah, I see. The red key is in a different place on Expert, where I was playing. Sorry for the confusion. :)

Hi!
I'm so very very stuck on Mission 8 and I really don't want to skip the rest to see Mission 9. I know that some of you have moved on, but I don't know *how*. I've even restarted from the beginning and wound up stuck at the same place. Playing on Expert. I have a blackjack and two holy water arrows.
It's the section just after the small lava pool and the apes. There's a document you read just before teleporting to the round area with the lampost - perhaps there's a tip there in Japanese!
Anyway. You land in a round area with a lampost. Directly opposite is another lampost centered in a round area, and behind the lampost is a mechanist servant. To your right is an unfrobbable door. Opposite that is a short hallway that forms a T-intersection with a short corridor. At one end of the corridor is a statue, at the other is a lit crystal. When you enter the corridor, the statue shoots purple energy blasts and hits the crystal dead on.
I've tried:
* Placing the unconcious servant in the niche of the crystal and letting the purple blasts kill her.
* Many variations of doing same preceded by shooting something(s) with holy water:
- douse servant, then niche, then sacrifice her
- douse servant, sacrifice, douse her within the niche
- douse statue, then niche, then sacrifice
- place servant before statue, douse both, douse niche, sacrifice
- place servant before statue, douse both, sacrifice, douse her within the niche
- douse servant, sacrifice, place her before door, douse her and the door
* Carry unconcsious servant while standing at the threshhold of the T-intersection, moving incredmentally to both edges
* Carry dead servant while standing at the threshhold of the T-intersection, moving incredmentally to both edges
NONE of the above, or the other variations of holy water dousing have accomplished a jot or a tittle.
Please, PLEASE, someone, how did you get that horrible, inscrutable, impervious door to open?! :erg: I'm feeling very stubborn about this one. :grr:
Thank you hugely in advance!
Cheers,
-M
