I've got a huge problem, as Nightwalker once described also:
I'm on level 2: a doubtfull corridor.
As I got into the cathedral, shooting my rope arrows around, the mission got "tired". I can't play at a normal speed again. Everything gets "hacked".
The mission gets so slow, that I can't play it anymore. Everytime I take a jump, I'm lost .................!
I got the "false" rope arrow back, which got stuck in the wall, after shooting it too far ...... but the game still gets slower and slower ......
I'm now on the crate-staircase, but it's impossible to get upstairs, due to this problem.
And now, when I'm halfway up, the game shuts up on me and I'm getting back to the Darkloader menu ........... also can't start up the last save!
I also haven't got the sword yet. Got the sword key though, but I'm not able to open the door "above" in the seperate room down there, where there's a haunted hammerite opposite to this room, who really likes to have me for dinner ..........
Help requested.......please???

This framerate problem has been associated with reloads by Peter Smith. I too had to abandon the final mission in this series and then with what I felt were minimal reloads. Anyhow, according to Peter Smith, the only way to keep the framerate high is to reload as little as possible. You may be better off restarting this mission. As if JIS' stuff isn't hard enough already now we've got to try to do it Ironman. Ugh!
And another technique I use to free up as much computer resources as I can. After installing a mission with Darkloader, I exit Darkloader and start up the game directly. That's one more background process not running while I'm playing.

That was my theory, but I have no proof of it apart from greatly reduced problems when I did avoid reloads. There is some bug in the mission that is activated around that large cathedral near the end that hogs computer resources. Not only that, I find that it takes forever to load a save file once this corruption gets into the save file, and that with each subsequent save and reload it gets worse. It is like the effect gets compounded -- bad information saved N times, and the cumulative damage to the save file increases. The save files are not getting noticably larger, but the time it takes the game to reload the information in the save file becomes increasingly longer. It could be something as simple as a bat making its sound, and the sound echoing between walls, and with each reload you get more instances of the same sound. Anyway, once that gets into the save file, you cannot load the save file without having the same problem again. The last mission, Men's tale, has the same issue.
I have found only one solution to this problem. That is to go back to a save that was free of the corruption and to Iron Man the mission past the area where the problem was introduced. That means, in my case, to play that entire cathedral area without any reloads. Then I had no problems.
Men's tale was a similar thing. There was a point about midway in the mission where this corruption started - a room with spiders and switches. Normally I might have taken a dozen saves and reloads to get from there to the end. Saving and reloading normally, it became impossible for me to play. I reduced that to about three reloads, and I barely got through it.

:grr: I've got a HUGE problem.
Since I've entered the cathedral (2th level) the game went slower and slower.
Not playable at all anymore now.
I managed to get to the crates-staircase, while cursing and starting over a lot, but only found a empty toolkit upstairs.
In the meanwhile the game isn't playable anymore, so I quit.
To my surprise, I see that I'm mixed up with the last level "a men's tale" , but I'm still playing the second level "a doubtfull corridor".
This is SO frustrating!
Can anyone help me?

I have done it again...stuck.
mission 6.
I have gone around the best that I can and found very little.
I have gone up the vine, into the room down the ladder took out the 2 guards got the key.
went to the other room (across the pipe) down the hall, avoided the bots, took out the 2 guards, flipped the switch avoided the saw blade bot, and got the heck out of dodge.
went up and mantled the water pipes broke the glass, took out the guard, flipped the switch to open the door, went up the ladder, flipped the 2 switches to open the other door.
now here i stand looking at this fool from his tower, not being able to get to him, and he not getting me.
how do i continue?

I'm in the beginning of mission 3. There are two chests that I can't pick open, and no keys that I can find. I've tried bashing them with the sword, but that doesn't seem to be working. (Maybe I'm just not being patient enough?) I know about the pressure plate, I used the guy in the side room to hold it down. Please help.

PS- I'm playing on expert.
PPS- Is it me, or do ALL the torches light up as if they're frobbable?

Hey.
Read throught the entire 14 page thread and still can't find an answer to my problem :(
I am at the end of m3 - the factory mission. I have come to the mansion with the metaldoors, that are frobbable, but not pickable. I used a ropearrow on the woodenbeam to get to the balcony, where I found a key in a metal toolbox. And that's it. I don't know where to use that key. It doesn't fit the lock on the front doors. Any hints?
Climb back down, walk back through the streets, down the passageway lined with doors, through the courtyard, back into the building and turn left down the stairs. Use the key to unlock the lockbox at the bottom and the gate opens.
PLEASE NOTE : There was no need to start another thread, as well as post your question at the end of the established thread about this mission. If future, post your question only once. It will be seen, I promise you.
