Don't worry, I didn't forget you. Since Dia got ahead of you in line, you'll be getting your crate of Amyl Poppers and Viagra probably about week after her. And don't worry. Just like I said, the transaction was totally confidential. No one knows about it besides you and m...
...
...oh shi...
edit: I don't know anything about a hamster.

There hasn't been any new info released on the game since the initial rush a month ago, yet you're all somehow even more enraged and cynical than you were when they first showed the trailer.
Um... my reaction at that time was (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF_Ca45JRFs) this, actually.

"more enraged"
Heh.
Really?
That's you reading hyper-emotionality into things yet again, and the wrong emotions, to boot. Is this what we can expect from now on?
Here's how many protests work: You keep at it until something improves or hope is lost. The current protracted silence by EM is merely stasis. Nothing's yet changed. And they were mostly silent for years, and now it's been only two weeks, with noted Tweets even in that time.
Enraged? We're laughing, and partying to pass the time while not forgetting why we're here, and you think it's "more enraged?" It's much less rage, and just keeping the embers glowing.

I'm far from being the only one who thinks that Garrett decorating his hideout with phat loot goes against his character.
As I said earlier, I also think it looks a bit silly when you try to make sense of it form the point of view of the game's fiction. But I think it's worth it if it gets a few extra people to spend more time exploring levels and appreciating that side of the thief experience.
My opinion could change depending on how much the special loot requires exploration, how much time is spent in Garrett's hideout, how the loot is presented, etc ... but at the moment I expect to approve of it on balance.
Anyway, I think we're at the stage with this one where there isn't anything left to talk about other then agreeing to disagree.

How does having them enter the sword fight with a blackjack make any more sense? The way I see it, it's even a bigger problem to give them the idea that they can use a blackjack for combat.
The point is that they should never want to initiate a sword fight in the first place.
So the player sees some guard, and they cycle through their inventory to see what they can do to get rid of him/her. And the main affordances of
every single resource at their disposal are actions which avoid combat rather then initiate combat (where "avoid combat" may include sniping the guard with an arrow).
If this is actually the direction EM are taking (and so far I know of no ironclad evidence either way, but the lack of a dedicated combat weapon makes me hopefull), then I will be very happy.

Sounds like you're taking these sarcastically humorous posts way too seriously, Renz. The pic I was commenting on was
funny (at least I and a few others thought so); my response was meant to be humorously sarcastic (or sarcastically humorous). (Afterall, it's pretty obvious that the T4 devs have already 'borrowed' ideas from popular games; you'd have to be blind not to see that.) Actually, my 'rage' towards EM never really was 'rage', btw - just serious disappointment, hissiness and and sheer incredulity - and is less now than it was after the first spate of T4 info was released.

Start thinking that the devs are actively making fun of you, due to the way they worded some certain thing in some certain interview.
Uhhhmmm .... no. If anything, it's quite the reverse. As indicated by the recent mock-ups of pics (like the one Starker posted) showing achievements, hints & clues, etc., which are meant to be sarcastic/cynical/humorous previews of what T4 may end up looking like. Though a lot of us may have felt that EM was just a little too dismissive of the original games in said interviews (never thought they were making fun of us, btw), we've maintained our sense of humor and can poke fun at EM in the form of these mocked-up pictures. And I think they're funny. Nothing like a little humor to diffuse tension, I always say. Lighten up a tad, sweetie. Nuthin' but love for ya.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm not the author of the picture. I just found it on the internet.
And yes, I am taking the piss out of them. I can't help but find it funny when the devs say darnedest things like "Garrett speaks a lot through his eyes" or that people today couldn't possibly grasp the complexities of a keyboard.

That at least is something I can fully agree with.

Such as "I am now looking left"? Or something more complicated like Morse code?

Ooh, that reminds me... They also want to "bring back" the word "taffer":
Quote:
Okay, most important question last: can we expect to hear the word “taffer” in the game?
Stephane Roy: Again that's another one for the narrative director [Steven Gallagher]. I think he wants to bring it back but
hasn't worked out yet exactly how. I know that it's part of the DNA of the franchise, and that you're not the first one to ask this question! People are just in love with that word, and I'm surprised to see after all these years that it's still in people's minds! So no doubt we're going to have it, but how exactly honestly keep your question in mind for a later date.
Maybe they will do it through Garrett's eyes. It's either that or one of those interpretive dances. It's a tough one, isn't it?
