I recently replayed it too and was thinking that PC doesn't really have any game like that as far as I know and it's a shame. Enslaved is like Uncharted except it's interesting and fun to play, and it doesn't have QTEs! It might be my fav console game of this gen

That has to be sarcasm. The platforming's on auto - literally - and the combat is a bit ridiculous because of gummy controls, which makes the frustration compounded on Hard. There's a chase somewhere about 75% through that will not let you make a single error on Hard, and it is fucking annoying. There's still a mark on my wall from when I threw the controller at it.
Enslaved's best features are its faces, and maybe its story, which doesn't have the Alex Garland trademark 'protagonist turns into a psycho in the third act' problem, because the protagonist started off a bit of a psycho anyway. But... the ending still managed to leave me feeling conflicted, somehow.
It's ridiculously pretty, though. Ninja Theory have a rare virtuosity at eking the most out of Unreal Engine 3.

It's your opinion. I won't lie that I got frustrated with some sections too on first play but second play on Hard was a very fun ride from start to finish.

Fair enough. The PC version should play more than a bit better than the PS3 version, that thing was all over the place in terms of frame-rate. Should make bits like the chase and large fights smoother to play, too.

I didn't have any problems with the controls, and come on, the platforming isn't on automatic, merely
semi-automatic!Both the combat and platforming feel much like POP2008. Which was a game I disliked deeply. Enslaved is one of those games like Psychonauts and Deadly Premonition that manages to elevate a game with lacklustre gameplay into something great thanks to it's characters, story, setpieces, and setting.

By gummy controls, what I mean is that the response time to the controls is slow, and it's very hard to cancel out of an attack animation once committed to it -- if you can cancel out at all in the first place. It's just not very responsive on the PS3. NT learnt their lesson with DMC at least, which is slick and fluid and a joy to control in comparison.

Gameplay I can't comment on, but I really really enjoyed the story to this one. The main pair were well-written, and the final setpiece was downright apocalyptic. Reminded me a lot of the tone of Heavenly Sword, which was also Ninja Theory but a different writer.

$20 on steam! That and How to Survive are next purchases for sure.
