Here is my actual work on MAX_GLOBAL_RENDER limit:

------------- csgmerge end -------------
My "Unique render aspects: 7984" seems to be high compared with the other missions. But what means "Unique render aspects" ? It's a city mission with huge buildings where all of the roofs and walls are climbable, and the housing can be explored. And what is that "Totally coplanar... ick."? For a time there were only 2 limes of it, and now there is 4.

Well, I just got the increase MAX_GLOBAL_RENDER error. I am able to portalize, but I can't optimize anymore. I'm clueless.
Anything new about what causes this error ? Is it a mission breaker ?
I may have to split the mission in 2 parts because of that. I'll try to remove a couple sides to cylinders and see what happens, but it really baffles me.

Show your monolog.txt. How much 'Unique Render Aspects' do you have?

WARNING: Optimization failed, level remains unoptimized!
I've had the More than 32 edges after edge-merge! problem for quite a while, I just deleted its brush to check it out, but it doesn't change anything regarding the Max_Global_Render error.
I know I am very close to the cell limit, but I can deal with it. I can't find the unique render aspects.

I continue to walk the razor's edge. First I had to remove the insides of the mansion. Further I had to abandon the forest. I just hope I will not have to build anything because I will have to remove something again.
I concluded better to build several small well detailed levels than one large.

Optimize doesn't work, that's why. You have to delete some cylinders or dodecahedrons (maybe 4-5) or some other terrain brushes. Then optimize again. I bet it's working after deleting some stuff. Show monolog after optimization again.
DrK on 9/3/2014 at 15:16
I think I'll split my mission in 2 parts, I can't really delete parts of it in order to finish it.
Anyway, I opened a backup of the mission, without the 20 or 30 brushes I recently added to it. The mission optimizes, no problem. And there, the monolog actually shows the unique render aspects : 7992.

This is it. I get this error at 55.800. I have not yet figured out whether there is any regularity.
fibanocci on 9/3/2014 at 15:22
I guess, that's the limit. I mentioned it here

Beltzers map only has 2755 Unique render aspects. And I can put tons of stuff into Beltzers map. I hit the limit at 7992 in the testing map. I can't add a single brush without messing up optimization. So I guess, this is the limit for MAX_GLOBAL_RENDER.
All you can do is to delete some stuff (terrain brushes) or replace terrain brushes with objects. Objects don't affect the number of 'Unique render aspects'
