Hey, I cannot get the Escape! mission for Thief I to complete, yes I read the book in the treehouse and it does not register as a completed goal so the mission will not end. Any help would be appreciated, I have spent too much time on the game not to finish it. Even a save game file would help. Thanks

There are two readables in the mission and both are in separate treehouses. If you have read
this text in-game, and the objective doesn't tick off, you have a glitch:

Thank you very much for the answer, yes it was a glitch but I force ended the mission.

Isn't the objective text the one about the compasses? The one you need is in a treehouse through the spider caves near the start point; it is guarded by 2 frogbeasts and 2 insect beasts.

Yep, that's correct. The one to read for the objective is the one about The Eye ritual (it's next to a chair), not the one about The Dark Project (although both are good reads).
