Germany will crush Denmark. I predict 3-0.

It could come down to drawing lots. BBC explanation of permutations (
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18454917) here.
Quote:
The Rules
If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied, in the order given; to determine the rankings:
• (a) higher number of points obtained in the matches among the teams in question
• (b) superior goal difference in the matches among the teams in question
• (c) higher number of goals scored in the matches among the teams in question
• (d) If, after having applied criteria a) to c), two of those teams still have an equal ranking, criteria a) to c) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the two teams in question to determine the final rankings of the two teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria e) to i) apply in the order given
• (e) superior goal difference in all the group matches
• (f) higher number of goals scored in all the group matches
• (g) if the two teams have played each other in the final group game, the team to progress would be decided on penalties. Otherwise it comes down to the Uefa national team coefficient ranking system
• (h) fair play conduct of the teams (final tournament)
• (i) drawing of lots.

What? No "If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium" rule?
One of the great things about soccer / football when I was growing up was the utter simplicity and elegance of the FIFA rules, not to mention the tremendous play by still unmatched footballers. But I imagine most of you are too young to remember: (

Well, I'm definitely too young to remember that. :p Some nice highlights there (obviously I've seen them before, but it's nice to watch stuff like that again every now and then), I like it how the game seemed a lot less "serious business" back then... Just look at those goal celebrations! Some of the goalkeeping in those clips is really terrible though, but at least there were more goals in matches.
Hahaha, that's absolutely hilarious! :D Thanks for posting it...

Sympathy Cup round 2 update!
GROUP A:
+5 Czech Rep.
+4 Greece
+3 Russia
+1 Poland
GROUP B:
+7 Denmark
+5 Netherlands
+3 Germany
-4 Portugal
GROUP C:
+7 Croatia
+4 Rep. of Ireland
-2 Spain
-3 Italy
GROUP D:
+4 Ukraine
+1 Sweden
+1 France
+0 England
Spain:
-1 Crybaby Penalty! (Spain considered filing an official protest because the grass wasn't watered properly in the ESP-ITA match...)
+1 Nice Football Bonus! (the opposition was rather weak, but they did play some nice football at times)
Ireland:
+1 Sympathy Point! (ESP-IRE was one of the most one-sided games that I've ever seen, but the Irish kept fighting until the end...)
Portugal:
-1 Fake Injuries Penalty! (Pepe, Postiga)
-1 Ronaldo's Annoying Freekick Stance Penalty! (you know, that annoying gunslinger pose)
Denmark:
+1 Sympathy Point! (removed Bendtner from the annoying players list... for now)
+1 Comeback Bonus! (they would have deserved a point after the great comeback vs Portugal)
Portugal:
+1 Nice Football Bonus! (three goals against Denmark)
Russia:
-1 Hooliganism Penalty! (some truly ugly scenes before the RUS-POL match)
Poland:
-1 Hooliganism Penalty! (see above)
Netherlands:
-1 Soulless Performance Penalty! (their performances so far have been spineless... until the last 10 minutes of the Germany match)
+1 I Like ORANGE Bonus!
Germany:
+1 Cool Player Bonus! (Mario Gomez)
-1 Timewasting Penalty! (wasting time by holding up the ball at corner flag is the most annoying tactic ever... they're not the only team that are guilty of this, but I didn't expect it from Germany!)
Sweden:
-1 Unsportsmanlike Penalty! (kept playing and scored a goal while an Ukraine player was lying in the ground injured)
-1 Idiot Ibrahimovic Penalty! (just one rotten apple in the basket, but...)
+1 Nice Football Bonus! (played some nice stuff vs England, didn't deserve to lose in my opinion)
France:
+1 Cool Player Bonus! (Yohan Cabaye)
England:
+1 Nice Football Bonus! (three goals from Roy's team! who would have thought?!)

Don't France get a -1 Bashing Beastman penalty for Ribery?
And England +1 Super Nice Guy Scores Unexpectedly and Behaves with Decorum bonus for Walcott?

The head to head thingy makes sense, yeah, I just wasn't expecting it! Has this rule been in place in the previous tournaments as well, or is this the first time they're using it?
I'm reliably (?) informed by an ex-amateur footballer/referee that rules change all the time and are set for each tournament.
We like orange too so we're watching Netherlands v Portugal.
SubJeff on 17/6/2012 at 19:53
Me too, except they are black today.
Portugal are such arses. They are good enough to not need to dive or grab so much. And when they do grab they then act all butthurt they are caught. Its disgusting really.

Portugal 2 - 1 Netherlands
Denmark 1 - 2 Germany
Disappointed. :(
