Yeah, that hitting a pod releases the sword from midair is well known.

I've always wondered if the room Garrett meets Viktoria & Constantine in is actually in the mission.
If you mean the room where Constantine introduces himself, it can't be in his mansion because Garrett wouldn't have gone with Viktoria to Constantine's mansion because he would have suspected a trap.

Not by everyone it seems, surprised it wasn't discussed more.

I think he means the one where Garrett gets his eye plucked out.
Unless that's somewhere else besides his mansion?

Well, I for one, did not know that. I think that is an awesome find! It just goes to show that even with young acolytes scouring Dromed, there are *still* things that remain unexposed in Dark Project. :ebil:

It's pretty well known, I thought? I've always looked at it as the "standard stealthy way" to complete the mission.
To be fair though, I guess you don't generally go around in Thief bashing random things with your sword (shit, what have I just admitted to? :o) ... but that thing is just so strategically placed ...

The eye-plucking room is in the mansion: it's at the far end of the garden (and it's also where you begin Escape!). I was referring to the meeting room from the first cutscene.
That's a good point, R Soul. Maybe Constantine just summoned up a little bungalow somewhere and had them over for a little brandy.

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it seemed most relevant...
I'm trying to dig up images of Constantine's mansion for an art project, but am hampered by the fact that my T1 discs have gone missing. I seem to remember that someone had reconstructed the Sword & Escape levels as one continuous structure in T2 just to see if they could (never for release). Does anybody have any idea who did that, or have access to the files? it would be a huge help if I could load it up in Dromed to find the bizarre views I want to capture.

Wow. I was wondering if it was possible. If someone did it successfully, even if it's not playable, but can be explored in DromEd, that would be fantastic! You might want to ask in the editor's guild.

There was a fm-thread not too long ago titled "Do you know these places?" (or something like this) where someone currently uses OMs from Thief1/Thief2 and tries to reskin them with high quality textures. One of the preview pics was from the OM "The Sword", but with all the fancy texture it looked like a complete different game! :D
Maybe the author of that threat can give you a link to the OM
