Exposing Sexual Harassment... - by Goldmoon Dawn

When you put it like that... ofcourse it sounds bad. But again, I said it somewhere before (evidently to "Slasher", because he sure as hell responded to that one) - normal people have most likely done far worse things in their lives. If you're a parent, then there's a depressingly high chance that you've abused your child in some way, which is far worse.
Masturbating in front of your colleagues and acquaintances is not normal. Not even remotely. And even if there are people who have done worse things, that does not excuse a bad thing. And he knew he was doing a bad thing, or he would not have kept denying it for all these
years decades. If a grown man needs help to keep his penis in his pants, maybe he isn't fit to participate in the society. Nobody is obligated to put up with a creep, so that maybe he would get better.
Also, he never hurt anyone? Is that where you think the line should be drawn? Physical injury? Does that mean that groping someone on a train is not a big deal as nobody was hurt?

Hey, I never said it's normal. But I did say that it's disproportionately overblown. Still, at the same time, if he was such a scumbag, he at least would have continued to lie about it, don't you think? I don't know why I'm defending a "serial" masturbator in front of women at this point, but here I am. Gropers sound bad as well, although I don't really know much about them. Groping sounds kind of disgusting and stupid, but just as with Louie's weird habbit, it shouldn't be condemned with *the chair*. It's correctable, and I would think Louie won't do it again... so I think Louie shouldn't be condemned with a sort of a death penalty given his job, but taken account for it. Then again, given Louie's own humor, one might just say "Did you know that you could masturbate in front of women you don't know... and get away with it?!". So there is that... although that's material for the next louie... anyway, that's just where I stand on this. I think it's fucking ridiculous, especially ġiven the quantity of these stories now. It's become a meme at this point and it's harder to recognize the important stories from the rubbish.

That's definitely a line that should be recognized. A rapist and a public (or semi-public) masturbator should never receive the same punishment ever. It's like punishing a kid with a good beating for taking the chocolate.
Slasher, go home. I know you're trying to be the Kevin of Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, but you're just not cool enough, sorry.

Very well said, Starker! Indeed.
@Thor; sorry friend, but your posts are starting to sound like you're typing with your dick. The convolutions within your posts aside, you're basically defending a creep who pulled out his dick and jerked off in front of women and told himself it was okay because he 'asked' them if it they were okay with him doing such a disgusting thing. Have you read his own statement? He admits he abused the power of his celebrity status and pretty much backed those women into a corner. There's such a thing called 'coercion', you know (Google it).
'These stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was O.K. because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly. I have been remorseful of my actions.' ((
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/10/arts/television/louis-ck-statement.html))
The rest of his 'apology' is just plain bullshit; he apologized because he got
caught. Here's a more in-depth analysis of his so-called 'apology' and I agree with the author of that article.
'Even so, nestled into C.K.’s admission of fact—“these stories are true”—are several deliberate lies. C.K.’s phrasing is cunning and specific: Perhaps he did ask each woman if he could take out his penis before he showed it to them, but he doesn’t say they said yes, because many didn’t. (The New York Times piece that broke the allegations included just one woman who said she “went along with his request” before realizing “he abused his power” and “it was wrong.”)'and:
'C.K. is squeezing his history of harassment into a narrative of misunderstood consent. He is claiming that, as an adult man, he believed that repeatedly asking a woman in his workplace to watch him masturbate in his office was appropriate.' ((
http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2017/11/10/louis_c_k_s_masturbation_statement_unnervingly_misunderstands_the_concept.html))
If you honestly think for one moment that Louis C.K. wouldn't go right back and do it again if he thought he could get away with it, then you are unbelievably naïve. One bullshit apology doesn't automatically cure his warped mind or indicate that he truly understands the implications and consequences of what he did and that what he did was just plain wrong.
And I call bullshit on your earlier statement:
Quote:
'Hey, I felt a bit of a shock when I first heard about that thing. And it's a bit of a disappointment, but I won't let something like that make me suddenly discard him as person. He just needs to know that people don't appreciate that and he should definitely resist his urge to repeat that. He most likely thought it was semi-ok, especially since he jokes about things like that and people just accepted it.'
Omg. I could give you so many examples of how asinine that statement is and also how it illustrates a part of your nature that I find pretty repulsive in anyone, men or women. Basically what you're doing is defending a sick-minded perv and trying to invalidate the claims of women who were offended by his creeper behavior. But I have the feeling that if I have to explain any further, you still wouldn't get it. I'll try once more: there is a difference between people laughing at questionable 'jokes' and people actually accepting, in real life, the behavior that's being joked about as normal behavior for a man. Get it?
'semi-okay'?? What the actual fuck is that?!!! Something is either okay, or
not okay. Especially when it comes to sexual harassment and/or sexual assault. F.f.s.

There you go, typing with your dick again. Do yourself a favor and stay the fuck away from women; you obviously don't have a cold clue in hell. 'Important stories'?? Yeah, newsflash, hon, the story of
any woman who's been sexually harassed and/or sexually assaulted is
important.
This isn't about your dick and your rather warped attempts to affirm your masculinity by invalidating the claims of women who are saying things
you don't think should matter. It's about women who've been subjected to sexual harassment and who are
finally stepping out of the shadows to tell their stories. You've obviously missed the point.
Go be someplace else.
F.f.s.

I think Thor is making the same mistake that many people make, that is, that there are degrees of violation. That one thing is worse than another although technically that might be true. But one person can feel just as devastated by a flasher as another person can feel if they're assaulted. Emotions can't be put in neat boxes.
Thor on 18/11/2017 at 20:33
Very nice to speak with you finally, Dia! I'm glad you didn't block me without at least trying to speak first like mr. Jeff suggested. Yeah, I'm basically defending a creep who pulls out his dick semi-publicly, yeah, it's fucking weird. But ok, taking on yet another perspective, if it's so weird that someone masturbates in front of you, I still don't see how it's more of a shock and disappointment than anything else.
The point about my naivety is pretty good though. I have faith in humans to a fault, in a way.

Yeah, I know that's a bit of a loophole, but at the same time there is more truth to it than people like to admit. If you can laugh at the joke behind it, you also know the repulsive truth about it. Humor and reality are like of like the Joker and the Thief (or batman, if you prefer that).

Well that's kind of binary. I know this isn't the right topic, but how many genders do you think there are?
For the rest of the post you seem to reference my dick a lot, so it looks like you're typing with your vagina there. It's a fun antagonistic stance, but I prefer the ying-yang idea more. And yeah, I get the point that women are
finally coming out, but I also find it very sketch-worthy, because of the general pattern that is observable, where people just criminalize other people for profit in some way or another. The shining example for me is the whole Pewdiepie HORSESHIT by wallstreet journal earlier this year, but thankfully people recognized the absolute horseshit that went down there. I don't really follow these stories as tighly, so I'm not really speaking about the whole topic at hand, but I'm just really skeptical about the upper (or lower depending on how you see it) limit these stories tell, even if it's because the concept of gold-digging whores is more than a concept,
By the way, I smell a potential ban (quite possibly from my favorite Renzatic that hates me and so do all the other long-timers for some reason) because I am a bit of a controversial faget, so if this is my last post or close to that, I want to at least share this
VERY nice Mercury song:

Hey, nickie! It's not a mistake and I think you know it. Rape is not equatable to a flasher (by which I understand showing your boobs or dick) and you know it. If someone feels quite as badly about just being shown that, it's a seperate case, but as a society there needs to be a reasonable norm, otherwise anyone can destroy anyone's life at a whim.
Starker on 18/11/2017 at 21:20
Who is saying that what Louis CK did was equal to rape or that he should get the death penalty? Just because he didn't rape someone doesn't mean that what he did isn't despicable or that his behaviour can't be condemned.

Well, yeah. Just not at the expense of his life, I think.

Okay, okay. I'm just saying gold digging whores are a thing. Color me influenced by Bill Burr, but it just makes too much sense to not consider. Not assume, but consider. And not just him, but the e.g. Wallstreet journal, which is also a hard-boiled gold digging whore dressed in a corporative outfit.
I'm kind of a centrist. This is a left-leaning forum, let's be clear. It's
very left. I've visited right-leaning places as well, in which I get outcasted as well, because I defend some values propogated by the left and claiming that things are usually inconclusive.

No, but anyone who says this about what Louis CK did:

doesn't deserve any more time.
I don't read your posts, I just see these bits of idiocy and that's all I need to see. It's all anyone needs. When I first suggested people ignore you it was after reading some nonsense about those women being too fragile for life or something.
If you really think that you either need to grow up or just shut up, because it's immature nonsense.

Hey now, that's offensive. I think I'm getting a little traumatised over this. (c wut I did thar?) It
is disproportionately [did I even spell that right? I'm not a native, so I'm, of course, excused] overblown, and the fact that you don't see it is either a result of not knowing it (unlikely) or not knowing what actual harm (or pain, really) looks like.
I'm relatively young, but I know the meaning of pain. I take no pride in it or anything, but it does make me appreciate the nice things in life, as well as disappreciate the bullshit I occasionally see. I kind of wish I didn't have enough time to catch up on all the "news" going on, because it tends to be pretty bemusing a lot of the times (to use Digital Nightfall himself's words)
