The following was posted on another forum that I frequent, by what I would assume is someone acting in a Community Manager-esque role for the developer. It sounds right up TTLG'ers' alleys.
Hopefully they clean up the English translation significantly prior to release, if that trailer is anything to go by. It shouldn't be too difficult for a French developer to accomplish that.

Hi all,
We are Streum On Studio, an indie team composed of about ten peoples. Here comes the launch trailer for our game E.Y.E, a FPS/RPG being developed on the Source Engine and featuring a solo campaign with nonlinear levels, a complete cooperation mode with a campaign and some special missions.
In a dark future, the character embodied by the player is an elite soldier from a strange and secret society, which is looking by any means to take the power of the almighty Federation.
The arrival of a mysterious and monstrous force, emanation from mankind's fears and terrors is thwarting this intent.
The player will be able to make his character's characteristics evolve, buy some new equipment and several cybernetic implants, make some researches on new technologies, use dozens of psi powers. He will also have to deal with his psychology and his mental balance in order to not sink into madness.
E.Y.E would be out on PC in spring 2009.
This trailer introduces some gameplay sequences.

It looks like Anarchronox crossed with Deus Ex. Bookmarking. Thanks Eva.

Looks cool enough, and we don't have to forever for it to boot.

Damn that's looking awesome.

I've had a loose eye on this for a while, pun intended, and it looks interesting.
Uses a lot of HL2 textures though, hope they replace them on release.

Thanks a lot for the links, I saw trailer at school today but the Internet went "wot" on me when I tried to search for any info.

So, is this basically a half life 2 mod that is going retail on steam? Anyone have any idea?

This being TTLG, I'm not sure if you mean that derisively or not. Confirm/deny?
