You know, there interesting thing is that the official NMA review of Fallout 3 seems largely unconcerned about the game related to the other Fallouts. It's sure as hell a lot more honest about the games significant flaws the any of the pro review sites have been.
Yeah at least they had the good taste of not leting a fanboy write the review, i guess they have at least some self insight + it just wouldnt be NMA if people couldnt argue against it - read the response to it, rofl. I bet it's gonna be a 100-page discussion.
And yeah there's plenty of fanboys here too, i'm a big Thief3 fan so i know hehe

I like Thief 3 too. It's just cool to hate sequels to games that came out before 9/11.

After Bioshock, IW, and T3, the score for vicious non-acceptance of 'modernized' titles in beloved series is TTLG 3, NMA 1. That should make us the top layer of fanboys on the net.
Except that TTLG wasn't alone in being disappointed in those games. Especially Invisible War.

Not sure what makes them so insane, its most likely because their lives are so pathetic. If they had anything of real importance going on in their lives, they probably wouldn't care so much.
Fallout 1 was pretty good, but it wasn't a shining, halo-crowned object that descended from the heavens. In spite of the game's great atmosphere and world, it was held back by an extremely clunky combat system.

Bioshock? That game got the same shower of 9s and 10s that FO3 did.
And FO1s combat wasn't clunky, it just wasn't kiddie pool shallow like most modern games. The interface was clunky.

Pot to kettle.

I'm several hours into a second playthrough, only doing the vault quests and the "power of the atom" one and spending the rest of the time exploring outside of the city. I'm pretty surprised at how much detail they've put into the wasteland, and how much stuff there is that is purely there for flavor, with no relation to a quest. Oblivion had a fair number of areas just for exploring, but I'm pretty sure FO3 has it beat by a mile (plus the random areas are much more varied and usually have some sort of entertaining story behind them). Right now I'm exploring the mountainous area in the southwest corner of the map, which I never had a reason to visit in my first 50 hour playthrough. I like Oblivion, but it would have been a much better game if they had put this much detail into the non-quest areas.

~60h in with first char, ~20 with second, I haven't checked how much with the 3rd, but I'm pretty sure it's more than with the second. And this is what I have to say: You can use garden gnomes as bullets! Friggin' garden gnomes! As bullets! This should nullify any critique against the game. :joke:
