Radian-Helix Media has published a trailer for the mod Fallout New California. It will be released on October 23rd, and is a completely new Fallout game that uses the New Vegas engine. Fallout New California is a prequel to Fallout New Vegas, with a fully voiced stand-alone campaign, and will add an all-new story around a new player character that embarks on a journey through the wastelands of the New California Republic's Cajon Pass.

Fallout: New California is a mod of 2010's Fallout: New Vegas made by a team of amateur developers and headed by Brandan Lee. With the blessing of both Obsidian Entertainment and Bethesda Studios, this unofficial expansion takes place shortly after the events of Fallout 2, in the San Bernardino Mountains of southern California. The expansion follows a resident of Vault 18 who's embroiled in a civil war when one of your own is discovered to be a secret member of the Enclave, an enemy faction in the Fallout series
So basically, it looks like it stays true to the lore of Fallout 1 and 2.
Also, beta signups begin in July.

One thing that slightly bothered me about FONV was that it was very clearly biased against the Legion.
They were trying to be coy and subtle, but in almost every way except just coming out and saying it the game tells you,
"These guys are bad, they're the bad guys. But you can make your own moral choices and choose which side to play as."
But I always play as the Legion becasue I hate California.
It would be cool if I don't have to pretend to like California to enjoy this mod.

Hey now I'm from California :P but you are right though, I never saw any reason to join the Legion unless you just wanted to be pure evil, and even then joining the Legion instead of taking over New Vegas wouldn't have made sense for my evil character.

Does anybody complain about the lack of redeeming features of Paradise Falls? Lol.

Damn, you won't be able to continue into the original game after beating it until the next beta. I think I'd rather wait for that feature. Even if it's a long wait.

I just ran into that after finishing the mod off just earlier.
