What if we made 3 lists of words - say 10 in each. The author then chooses one word from each column and ensures the mission incorporates them in some way. The author would just have to announce what they chose in their mission text.
I feel like this would be easier to organize.

I vote for that.

That sounds pretty good. I would vote for that too. :thumb:

That sounds like a good compromise. Perhaps each word list could deal with different thematic aspects. Like one list would be about factions, the other location and the last loot items. Or 1) colors, 2) occupations and 3) buildings.
Would it be good for the authors to suggest words to the lists? They would probably choose their own contribution. Or we could have each author contribute a word to each list, then they pick 3 from any of the other words contributed. Just thinking out loud here.

It seems to me that the authors themselves haven't said much. They are quite underrepresented in this thread. This might turn into a newbie contest with all of you becoming authors. :cheeky:

likewise, Brethren seems to have gone rather quiet, i would like to know his thoughts on all the suggestions listed above

Newbie? Uhh no thanks, I'd rather something for people with actual experience not newbies (or should I say rookies) I'm sorry if this offends newbies but that's my opinion on newbies :erg:

Why ? What's the problem with beginners ?
I like the idea of the list of words too. Maybe make 4 lists of them : colors, factions/AIs, location and objectives.
Just giving my two cents here btw, I'm way too busy on a specific FM to be part of the contest right now.

If it's an open contest, then I don't think we can discriminate against beginners .
I have been fiddling about with DromEd some thirteen years now, but have never published anything of note.
I would consider myself a newbie in terms of publishing work.
There may be an untapped source of editing hopefuls out there with a decent level of experience but have yet to commit to a serious mission.
This could be the contest for that group to get involved in.
So, if you have been plugging away at your computer dreaming of Fan Mission Stardom, why not take the plunge! :)

I thought that it meant a newbie-only contest but I guess I just misunderstood it
Don't mind me I'm sometimes like that when I don't quite understand something that's being said :p
