Which fan mission clichés you cannot stand? Which ones you do not mind or even like?
Don't like
Garrett locked in a prison cell snatching a key from the patrolling guard or finding a lockpick somewhere near.
The statue's head wearing a tiara.
Tomb Raider mantling-over-lava championships.
A hammer or a bedroll in the chest by the bed with a sleeping AI.
Like
Mansions built over evil temples with tombs and undead (but this can get boring at times).
Water arrows and golden plates in the sink.
Garrett's landlord harassing him.
Finding dead members of lost expeditions.
Secret Keeper areas.
Empty toilets.
My personal opinion is that fan mission authors should not avoid possible clichés at any cost. Rather, they should try to add something new or twist them around to make them feel fresh. If a mission is fun to play, it doesn't matter if it's built on a cliché or not.

dont like= equipment that is never used in a mission, can be food/excluding grapes, weapons with no use, seeing more them one of the same painting in a mission, readable's with riddles/codes,hearing the same stock conversations from npc's,not a fan of benny anymore as he is worthless, having a no kill objective while guards are in unknock outable gear, meaning you forced to ghost
likes= dewdrop you can pick up,custom loot items, secrets within secrets, friendly burricks, custom conversations from npc's,hearing dogs bark in missions

It's about how it's done more than the individual thing.
TV Tropes has the reminder that "Tropes are not bad", and I think that fits here, too.
Properly used I'm not inherently against almost anything I've seen in an OG or Fan Mission.
But I will say if you're going to insist on forced ghosting/no blackjack, you better be good at your environmental design and guard placement.

I'm pretty much easy to please. I don't mind anything except forced ghosting. I hate forced ghosting. Now I will say say if its short and easy I will do it.
But everyone is different and I know there are taffers who love ghosting. To each his or her own.

Tomb Raider mantling-over-lava championships.
That can be a fun challenge

Secret Keeper areas.
This will never go out of style, as it can be taken in a million different directions. Crypts, caves, and lost temples beneath mansions are always fun. And I love coming across a secret Keeper area, it brings back Haunted Cathedral memories.

Don't like
- Bonehoard overdose* -> the same, Bonehoard looking place within/under/next to a mansion or in itself for the 100th time (especially after the 20 years T1G contest) is nearly as boring as the Benny overdose;
*by this I strictly mean the typical brown/gray bricked Bonehoard halls with zombies. I find them boring. All other lost places (lost city, any remote island, abandoned factory, etc) are welcome;
- When the main character you supposed to meat (sorry, meet!) is *surprisingly* dead when you arrive
Like
- servant diaries
- readables next to lost/dead expeditions (still a great way to tell a story, I think)
- fireplace secrets
- Name of a pub containing the word "burrick"

That depends - if you arrive early enough, you could still meat that character - with a sword and a fireplace nearby... ;)

Like:
Benny and his misfortunes.
Dislike:
When the author makes Benny and his misfortunes too silly.
I always have seen Benny not as an idiot but like old guy whose life was hard on him and the only comfort he may find lays in the bottle. He doesn't have dreams anymore. He just survives and waits for death.

Likes:
-misplaced keys
-hidden crypts/temples/caves, etc...
-“mansion with a secret” (perhaps including the above)
-Benny and kevel
Dislikes:
-locked chests with junk
-readables that no one would ever write
-predictable “surprising” betrayal
