I think alot of stuff that was mentioned here is more a game style rather than a cliche. For example forced ghosting or forced killing, which I both dislike. Not really a cliche, but the style a player likes to play.
If we go by cliches for me it is:
Like:
-Drunk benny
-Dewdrop
-music/sounds from the original game (pagan, creepy, etc.).
Dislike:
-if the story doesn´t make sense like randomly adding a zombie, corpse or what ever
-Garrett sayings from the orginial game you hear a hundred times (for example: "no worries ladies, I´m only passing through" ( hope I quoted it right, I play in german :) ), especially if they make no real sense
I´m not sure about basso though, I guess I´m still neutral towards him :D

I like cliches. They are nostalgic. I am pretty easy to please.
Like
- Benny anytime, anywhere
- lots of secret areas
- vertical missions (love to climb)
- lots of loot to find
- a change of objectives during the game
- conversations ( a great way to communicate info)
- multiple ways to meet objectives (for instance 2 or 3 ways to enter a manor)
- shooting arrow to hit button to open door or drawbridge
- having an objective to break into the weapons shop
- any sewer, any underwater area
- crypts
Don’t like
- forced ghosting with a no-kill, no- blackjack restriction
- ridiculous puzzles with obscure hints
- hard to reach areas with no reward
- undead
