I got this game dl'd but playing another right now, however, I have a question regarding a post above.
Is losing your picks a planned event or is there another reason for this happening?
Thank you for the reply in advance.

Answer to Fire Eater:
You loose your lockpicks for a reason
If you really want to know why:
you are thrown in prison and loose all your stuff, including lockpicks
I have a Cripplewood problem; I decided to ask here, since it might have changed since the first (2006) version.
I have Cripplewood's key; I went around outside and noticed that one of the guest bedrooms (but only one) had a frobbable window -- Guest Room 1. It was locked... so I tried Cripplewood's key on it, but it didn't work (I got the "wrong key" sound).
Where can I find the correct key for this window? Or is there some other way into Cripplewood's room (Guest Room 3, I think) which doesn't require gassing the guards in the north hallway?
Thanks,
Dafydd

You are playing on expert, aren't you?
IIRC, the key to the window can be found in the office at the topmost level of the mansion. But you have to find and read the note about the meeting first.
SinisterShadow, thanks; I got inside and finally managed to check off a couple of objectives (why I was captured and where they're meeting).
I now have Nestor's Key, but I have no idea what to do with it. I searched on the thread for the previous version, but nothing came up. I was hoping it would open the security office on the third floor; but actually, I don't think there is anything behind the watchers but eye candy (I took the invisibility potion just to check and see what there was; I only looked in one).
I tell ya, there are not many clues in this mission as to what to do next...!

You've probably missed another key in the Captain's Office or in his bedroom. And it's not only eye candy in the area on the top floor. IIRC Nestor's key just unlocks the door to the bedroom he is standing in.
Also, you should go and visit some places you've already searched before, because some things might have changed in there. ;)
SinisterShadow, I rechecked the Captain's office and bedroom and every other room in the mansion, from basement to third floor. I don't see anything different. Can you be a little less discreet and more specific?
The keys I have are: the cells key, the prison key, Büro Hauptmann (the Captain's key), the window key, Nestor's key, Cripplewood's key, and the Sleeping/Study Room key. Where should I go look for another key? And what would I use it on, seeing as all the doors I've found except one (third floor, all the way at the end) are either opened or unopenable in the game?
I'm just wandering in circles, totally stumped as to what to do next.

Key locations for the camera control room (3rd floor) for the different difficulty levels:
Easy: on top of the Captain's desk in his bedroom
Hard: on top of the bookshelf in the Captain's office
Expert: below the stairs from the Captain's office to his bedroom
There is a bonus objective if you leave one or two of the readables about this guy in the basement at a certain location.
When you've completed everything in the mansion, there still is this chasm you came across after escaping from your prison cell. There is another passageway across the broken bridge. Check your inventory. If you've got some rope arrows, head for this passageway.

Can't find my asset with both hands.
In the previous version, it was atop the bookshelf in the second-floor room, across the hall from the Captain's room, with the white door leading to the balcony; but I roped up there and cannot find it at all in this version.
Has it moved? Where is it now (on Expert)? It's the only thing I have left to do before returning across that bridge thingie and taking another route.
Thanks,
Dafydd
