Hey gang - sitting around alive and well in the hospital, finally off all the narcotics, so I'm actually lucid today. Fucking weird though - I have two tubes coming out from below my left ribcage hooked to a machine with a pump that's powering the artificial heart. I've got to say, this is the first day I've felt like myself and I'm realizing how awesome it is to be able to take a deep breath, go outside in 80 degree temps without suffocating, and walk a few laps around the ward without being winded. So glad to finally be rid of the disease that's haunted me for the last 17 years. New challenges and limitations obviously, but today I feel better than I have since sometime in 2009. More to come. Love you all.
