this is an idea for a fanfic i want an opionion on

garret gets a request from a man that wants a extremely rare painting worth a lot of money. the painting is part of a five part series. he discovers that it is linked to a string of five different murders. the sinister man takes certain things from each body needed to revive a certain mythical creature that could potentially kill off The City. and garret must save them from their fate. villians used is still pending at this time.

It's not a stupid question at all. Let us suppose, just for a moment, that you spelled Garrett correctly and his question indeed was intended to question your concept of who Garrett is. Then it becomes a very important question concerning the writing of a fanfic. Too often fic'ers attempt to write a story about characters they didn't invent and therefor don't understand. It's a common pitfall which tends to result on the lack of quality common among such materials, including, often especially, published works.

When designing your fiction, if you indeed choose to make it center around Garrett, make sure you understand his tendencies and motivations when designing what situations to throw at him.

In the end, people tend to prefer fan missions though.

On the other hand, there's no need for anyone to be rude.
