the multiplayer is very cool, sort of a cross between Cod4 and Stalker. Also, hangliders!

I love how we all say "draconian" now. It's useful again!
It's useful to blame a dead, ancient Greek lawyer for these injustices.

WARNING: The Steam release carries SecuROM v7 + finite no. of activations.
AAWW SHit:mad: Not ten minutes before reading this I bought this game from Steam in a moment of weakness. The only reason I even considered it was because I stupidly assumed the steam version would have the revoke tool etc.
No one to blame but myself but now I feel like I've purchased a product that is totally flawed.

While it's a gorgeous game - I'm unfortunately in the PC group who's having major issues with it. No clue how big that group is - but seems to be a lot based on the activity in the Ubisoft forums. :nono: Basically seems to be DX10 not running well & crashes, BSOD crashes, crashes to desktop, and widescreen issues just to name a few.

Nvidia has also just released a 180.43 Beta driver from the 180.42 released right before it to try and help in DX9 issues with FC2. (

Figure they had to get it out ahead of Fallout 3 and COD5 or lose game sales - but maybe if a lot of people are having the same issues - they gonna affect them anyway. :erg: Pretty sad I have to be nervous about the next crash instead of just enjoying the game.....
Anyone else had any issues with it in DX10 mode or with crashes?

DX10 is slower on ATI from what I've read. I had with my 4850 stuttering problems so I switched to DX9...cant notice any difference anyway so...
I've beaten the game. And this will be one of those that I will never touch again. There are too many problems with it really...and I'm not just meaning technical.

The game refunds you an activation when you uninstall it.

You can be such a bastard in this game.
For example, I toss out a molotov, missing my target entirely but setting the grass on fire. A soldier shooting at me isn't standing too far from the now burning region. I shoot him in the kneecap, he falls. Lays there screaming.
The fire is spreading slowly toward him. As it's about to reach him, a buddy of his comes running out, across my field of fire, to save him.
Gotta give the guy credit, he's got guts. I let him get his buddy almost to his feet. Then shoot him in the kneecap too.
They lay there screaming for a moment, but no one else comes. The fire takes them both.

Emergent gameplay at it's best. :laff:

I too probably won't be replaying it for quite a while once I finish, but it's fun while it lasts. I have not had any performance issues whatsoever, my rig isn't quite high-end so it can chug at times but other than that I have had no crashes or major bugs at all, and alt-tabbing is a smooth, quick process.
