The problem with books in oblivion is that they're a real pain to get lined up on a book shelf. Rather than having to rely on the quirky physics to place items book shelves should be containers that intelligently display their contents.
That was exactly what I was thinking. Think it's possible to throw a script onto a book-shelf-shaped container that'll do that?

lol, you guys should have bought some damn interior decorating sim. I just rush in, throw a bunch of shit on the floor (a la Campaignjunkie) and go back to the killing.
Well, yes - if I wanted to spend all my time arranging things perfectly - but I want Oblivion to do that part for me, so I can just run in, dump them in a container, and get back to the exploring/killing/questing.

Favorite books would be The Real Barenziah, and Barenziah's Biography.
Made me think for a few minutes - presumably, The Real is correct, but I think it's neat that they would write two competing accounts of the same events.
Did you play the Tribunal (Morrowind expansion?) You meet Barenziah and the author of The Real Barenziah, they talk about the books and how they were different, how they came about, etc.

There is a book placement mod that makes it easy to line up books however you want.

Sadly, no. I played a lot of Morrowind, but never got into the expansions. I did remember that Mournhold sounded familiar, and asked my friend about it; he said basically the same thing as you. Need to reinstall it...
Downloaded the Book Placement mod. Trying it out... (just need to buy a bookshelf first).
edit (again): Bought some shelves, and some of the books/scrolls keep falling through them. :erg:
As for the mod, it's a bit clumsy, but it works, if you're careful. It's much more forgiving than Havok.
