How do you taffers play? I use wasd for movement, ctrl for hold-crouch, c for toggle crouch, shift for walking, q and e for leaning and shift-alt-w for forward lean. Space for block/jump, r for drop item, t for clear inventory, and ` for clear weapon selection. I also have two side buttons on my mouse, each assigned to one lockpick.

I do the wasd thang,and I do "Cycle inventory" on my wheel mouse,nothing special just mainly defaults...
I have heard that some crazy guy/girl here uses the wasd buttons also and NO mouse at all:( yep thats right...you try it its hard!:D...they just side step and swing round etc....and get a big medal from me:cheeky:
I think that would make the thief experience somewhat heightened:eek:

I've always used the numpad arrows for movement, never wasd. Other than that, I mostly stick to the defaults.

[cursor-up] to walk forward.
[right-shift] + [cursor-up] to run
[cursor-down] for backwards
[delete] and [end] for moving left and right
[page-up] lean forward
[insert] and [home] for leaning to the sides
['] for jumping
[/] for crouching
[right-ctrl] for walking slow
and then the rest is basically default

I played through Half-Life completely without using a mouse. And it was a hard first person action shooter. :cheeky: My friend was like wtf when he found out.

I do the wasd thing also; c for crouch toggle, and 'I' 'U', for cycling through inventory, 'O' for objectives, 'M' for map. I've changed my keybindings to include 'G' for dropping inventory, 'B' for putting weapons away, and 'Z' for clearing inventory from screen. I've pretty much left all the other settings (ie: 1-0 =weapons, etc.) alone.
Regarding using the wasd keys and
no mouse; tried it but got very frustrated because it just wasn't precise enough (kept falling off things). Kudos to whomever can successfully play that way 'cuz it ain't easy!

I use ESDF (E = run forward) so I have two extra keys for my little finger. W for blackjack and R to clear inventory. (Hold) crouch and drop are moved one key to the right (so relatively they're in the normal position) and I use Alt+E/A/G for leaning. Now that I think about it, I should probably bind some keys other than F6/F7 to the lockpicks for easy access.

w = walk slowly
q = creep
I tend to use these together.
click middle button = Compass - effective way to 'reset' the inventory so I don't accidentally throw a flashbomb when I try to open a door.
Most of my controls are on the left hand side, not much different to the defaults.

Yeah I should do something like click the wheel to compass...have given myself away a few times,blowing off flashies in the corner...when I should be hiding:D
