You were ready to post that the moment you started the thread, weren't you ?
Anyway : Grim Fandango, Portal, Final Fantasy VIII, Monkey Island 2

I was hoping nobody would mention it.
Also, the ending of The Warriors (one of my favourite PS2 games.) Okay, that's technically cheating as it's also the ending of the movie, but fuck if Desmond Child ain't awesome.

GOD why do people fucking like that song so much? Seriously,
why? Explain it to me.
Personally I felt that the song neatly encapsulated the unique personality of GLaDOS and the general
feel of Portal to an almost sublime degree. I thought Portal was outstanding, and it took me by surprise since I didn't know much about it when I'd initially purchased the Orange Box. Given that, how could I
not like this song which summed up the game so perfectly?
I will say that a lot of portal's charm is somewhat intangible IMO, the weighted companion cube bit for example. The humor and approach either works for you, or not.
Maybe demagogue or others can give a more substantive answer.

That's the other thing, the Weighted Companion Cube. I seriously don't understand how that became popular (and apparently neither did Valve, which didn't stop them from capitalizing on it.) Just one of those fluke things I guess where people fixate on some utterly insignificant detail and blow it out of proportion.
Am I the only person who enjoyed Portal and then promptly forgot about it?

These "flukes" don't
have to be insignificant. As with all matters of opinion, they have whatever merit we choose give them on a personal level, and almost none otherwise...but any inability to understand or relate on the part of those who disagree is redundant, since their position is equally viable.

I still love the music to the Tracer Tong DX ending.
Dethtoll, memetics may explain why people seem to care so much about an utterly pointless detail.

I do
not understand that song's popularity.
*shrugs* ... GLaDOS is cute. What can I say?

Parasite Eve's ending theme, "Somnia Memorias." Very pretty song.
Also Chrono Cross's ending theme, Mitose Noriko singing "Radical Dreamers ~ The Unstolen Jewel."
