While I deleted BF2142 for what seems to be the last time, I've been listening to the (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qV7CkqR1Kr4) menu theme recently, a very fine slow track.
And on a completely unrelated note, (
http://www.benhouge.com/SongOfTheSylph.mp3) Song of the Sylph by Ben Houge from King's Quest: Mask of Eternity. Can't say I ever played the game(Or any King's Quest at all) but that's one of the best chillout tunes I've ever heard.

I've been warming to Shadow of the Colossus's OST lately. It's quite evocative.
And props to you folks about Snake Eater. Just hit up the OST a couple of weeks ago, and I'm rather surprised at the various bits of sheer awesome hidden away in it. It's really too bad that Kojima couldn't use the MGS main theme (much) in MGS4 because of the copyright infringement thing.

Jason, I have a copy of that NOLF soundtrack burried away somewhere. (It did come with the game, as promised.) If I can track it down I'll give it a send. It is indeed quite excellent.

I was about to mention that one myself. Shadow of the Colossus is one of the few epic soundtracks that actually comes across as epic without feeling overdone. It's so varied, too. The fight with the first colossus is this awesome driving orchestral fare. Then, later on, you fight a giant eel, and the track accompanying it is a slow, swirling track that matches the mood and movement of the monster perfectly. I doubt SoC would've been half as good without the music that went along with it.
For those of you who have yet to play the game, here's what I'm talking about.

I guess it's kind of ominous that it's not even a song.

A musical piece, if you wish.

Christ that thing was painfully generic.

Haven't seen it mentioned, so - NOLF and NOLF2. Even though the most recent copy of NOLF I bought was one of the ones that said "includes bonus CD soundtrack" but didn't actually.
How is that possible, if the CD soundtrack comes in the second install CD?
