Saying some knock-off remake for the nintendo console is better than the original doom!? what blasphemy is this!?:wot: That's like saying The Matrix Reloaded is better than The Matrix. (Though Reloaded
was awesome. Bad analogy I know, but you get my point.)
You have officially lost the argument.

k, Mr. I know better than you.
And before you think I don't know what doom 64 is, I am familiar with it and I know it's still doom but it's a departure from the original in many ways that I can't believe this arguement.

You called it a knock-off remake when it is neither a knock-off nor a remake.
You called it a departure from the original. It is not. It's the same god damn game at its base level, just prettier and with different- some might say better- maps. (Okay, a few monsters are missing, but you can't tell me you miss the Archvile or the Revenant.)
I do know better than you. Try again.

Yup. I'm saying it. Know why? Cuz it's true.
Doom was awesome. Doom 64 was more awesome. Don't believe me? (
http://www.doomwadstation.com/doom64/index.html) Then try it out for yourself, and see if you don't agree.
Of course you'll be playing it 12+ years past its prime, which'll weaken its impact somewhat. But still...just play it.

I will always love the music of the original Unreal. I still have some of the tracks occasionally playing in my head to this day.
A favorite: (

Fuck off troll. I HAVE played doom 64 before, you acted like I didn't know what it was. I just have a different opinion than yours, which apparently you can't handle. IT IS a mother f-ing "remake". Sure it's the same "base game", (even I already acknowledged that, and yet you ignored it), but it's different enough in the graphics and sound department.
@Renzatic:
Again, I HAVE played that. In fact, I've already downloaded that exact same thing, though I didn't play it all the way through.
Oh well, it's clear I've lost, but for me the original music will always be the best, if for nothing else than because I liked the kind of music better in that situation. If I had never played Doom 1 or 2 and only doom 64, then maybe i'd have a different opinion. I just don't feel like ambient tracks are as good, sure they might fit the situation better for a dark horror game, and I guess they make sense for doom 64 based on what they were going for, but otherwise no.

Thief TDP, TMA, and TDS
Day of the Tentacle (best midi ever)
Commander Keen 4-6
Streets of SimCity (nigh unplayable, find the many tracks on YouTube)
Death Rally (free Windows port FTW: (
http://www.remedygames.com/games/deathrally) )
Age of Empires
Age of Empires II/Conquerors Expansion (each track mixed different civs)
Chex Quest (best game to ever come in a cereal box)
Journeyman Project 3
TES: Morrowind (a lot of people feel it gets repetitive, but I never had a problem. Oblivion was kinda boring in comparison though)
Shivers
Diablo 2 (Act III jungle tracks)
Duke Nukem II (a sidescroller)

Right, because disagreeing with you makes me a troll. I've heard that before, and it doesn't stop being funny.

That's hilarious considering how much you're freaking out here. Grow a thicker skin already.

No it is not. It is a (
http://www.classicdoom.com/doomtext.htm#d64) sequel. Doom 3 is a remake. And anyway, what does it matter? It's Doom. It's the exact same fucking game. You grab guns, use those guns to slaughter monsters, grab keys, open doors. New textures and sprites aren't going to change that in any fashion.

no you didn't

Irrelevant. Most of the sounds are from the PSX version of Doom, which is otherwise mostly identical to the PC version. The PSX version also adds colored lighting to many of the old PC maps. I guess that means it's a remake now, huh?
