k so I finished it.
Verdict: middling for the first half with a few good moments; quality ramps up significantly in the second half though I do question the choice of making the
clone facility look like fucking LV-426. Ending was a bit anticlimactic too. But overall I enjoyed the game, though I think as a whole, XP is the stronger of the two throughout.
How many intervals are there? I am in the middle of interval 4 and having a blast. The levels are pretty big so far.

About 8 or so, with a level each, sometimes two.

7 intervals, some of them much longer than others.

I bet that they've removed leaning from the PC version FEAR 2.

Those are a lot tamer than I was expecting. I guess that's one good thing to come out of cross-platform development.

Unless the PC ports are badly optimised, then gruntier much hardware specifications than the original console's is needed. Notorious examples include the PC ports of Halo 1 & 2, GTA4 and now Saint's Row 2.

I remember FEAR was poorly optimized until a patch came out.

For what it's capable of, the original FEAR engine seems poorly optimized even in its final state.
