Unnaturally quick reflexes don't magically slow down bullets. Though it would be a fun ability; fuck with laws of general relativity.

Yeah it's largely dependant on luck but also on timing and split decisions- you can see the guy aiming at you, do you dive for cover or shoot him first? Here comes a truck, throw a mine on the ground a split second before the back doors open!
I tended to go for blitz attacks. Case in point would be where I snuck up on a few soldiers, headshotted one- the rest ran into a nearby room and shut the door. The trick was to burst through the door, immediately kill the guy just beyond, throw a grenade to the left side of the room (where it bends around the wall), then break out the shotgun, run around the corner, and start obliterating motherfuckers before they have a chance to react.
Bullet time helped a lot with this- I'd often throw a grenade and then start shooting before the grenade was even halfway to its target. And then there's the "shooting the mine in mid-air" trick.

I have a feeling that you and I would be EXCELLENT co-op partners. Over the years, I have noticed a lot of similarity in both our tactics and overall play styles.

Played the F2 demo, and quickly came to the conclusion that this has been dumbed down for consoles.
What really sucks is that the difficulty is way too easy, the magic of FEAR is gone and now replaced with come Condemned-sque weirdness to it. Smaller things like that yellow highligthing in SloMo, the weak weapons sounds and generally the overloaded and weak ambient sound just make it feel less FEAR.
Also what I really liked in FEAR was the bleak and eerie atmosphere, that's completely gone in F2 now.
I think I better get Extraction Point, at least there I know I get more of the same good ol' stuff.

Both expansions fucking rule.

Couldn't agree more. The more FEAR the better.

Yeah, I thought the expansions got a bunch of extra flak for no real reason. They were expansions, not sequels.

Expansion-hating has been noticeable since the Quake days as far as I remember.

One of the biggest criticisms of the expansions was that some of the level design was pretty bland. They have a point to an extent, I replayed the first Interval of Perseus Mandate a couple days ago and it was a Halo-esque copy-pasted corridor sewer level. I'm pretty sure that Dethtoll said that Perseus becomes far better after the big explosion and I would agree.
Extraction Point was the far better expansion I thought, better level design of the two. Frankly the "scary bits" were far better in EP than they were in FEAR 1. I recall the hospital levels being very creepy and atmospheric.

Yup, that was me, PM starts off looking bland and almost too clean, then BAM all of a sudden it feels more like XP.
