F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate versus Project Origin - by Digital Nightfall

I decided to wait for reviews, gonna play the torrent version that came out 2 days ago at my friend and then maybe get it end of year for 10bucks. After the demo I felt that Monolith should give ME money to play the full version so they get a proper playtest from a demographic they ignored.
Suddenly DeadSpace gains another sympathy point, even with its still-not-fixed-mouse-lag issues.

"SAVING CONTENT, PLEASE DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER."
"AWARD UNLOCKED FOR FINISHING THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER."

I never got this new "award/achievement" system for completing discrete
main objectives. It just seems cheesy and even condescending. When I got through a mission in Hitman I didn't feel frustrated that the game didn't give me a shiny gold star
just for getting through. We're not talking about separate optional objectives, or that other case, when passing a level
in a certain manner would net tangible advantages, like Volfied giving you an extra life if you got more than 90% of the map.

I was being sarcastic, Bjos. My feelings are the same as Ostriig's... and he's much more clear with his point, as usual. :D

"You're like free pizza at an anime convention and she wants to consume you." Ugh.
At least that's better than "MORE LIKE TEN SHITLOADS."

I may be the only person who doesn't give a shit about achievements.
Hopefully I'll be picking it up this weekend- either today or tomorrow, depending on when I get my car back out of the shop.

The presence of achievements or trophies disgusts me, but to be fair it doesn't really affect the game in any way.
Isn't that crap more for kids anyway? The thought of an adult smiling like our Cheeky because the computer rewarded him/her with a digital and completely worthless pat on the head is amusing to me.
