I never noticed the blur.
RE: the grain, it's only used in some levels I believe, usually during "spooky sections". Eg Replica facility under the hospital, the subway sections during Interval 5 or 6 (I can't remember which one exactly).

I have been running around in that damn facility for ages now, it is dragging on forever. I feel like I'll never finish the objective of escaping the outer shell before it is destroyed, there is just always another section when I think it is finally over.

Yeah it does go on for a while. When you get to the big room with the giant lift that you have to turn some valves to get running again you're almost home free.

That's a good article, though I must note that I didn't have a problem with "pre-cognitive" enemies and the AI was actually better than they were in the original (no more waiting by the door for the assholes to line up like in FEAR 1.)

I'm still early in the game, but my impression so far is that the "arenas" are as good, if not better, than in the original game. The enemy's initial positions, however, sometimes seem to work against the arena design though. There have been some areas where I've wiped out resistance, and then poked around the map and thought "wow, this would have been an epic fight if they had some guys start over here, and some over there, and some other guys rush in from over here." IMHO, though, they pretty much nailed the arena sequences for the most part.

Once I met the Replicas, the game got interesting again, but that facility is getting seriously old though. The whole scene doesn't feel like FEAR at all either, to me at least.

I guess they weren't counting on you killing those guys before they got there? ;)

I'm in interval 4 now (outside, finally!) and things are getting really twisted. I met some new bad guys but to be honest I have no damn clue what they even are. . .
