No, he just "never needed it".

Eh, he's playing it like a fucking Doom. And he's not all that much better, he just has a mouse.
The console guy was thick and getting lost because he couldn't see a goddamn door but he was much more dedicated to the game. And he joked a lot.

Yeah, the PC guy is pretty rubbish too. It's seriously fucked watching someone play a game like FEAR without ever using cover or planning their forward progress.

Is this still using Jupiter engine?

I've faced that problem more than once so far. Sometimes rooms get very dark, but when I use the flashlight the door and the surrounding wall look exactly the same in the light. I have to be a good distance away from the walls to get enough color contrast to spot the door.

Well, I've just finished the school level. Freaky stuff. Funnily enough, I saw a lot of parallels between this section of the game and the cradle in T: DS. And it's not just the obvious stuff, like the imagery of children.
For example, the way you have to enter the building is actually very similar to how you do so in the cradle. Also, there's a spooky section where a door keeps slamming shut, which made me think of Lauryl immediately!

You know, I never looked at it like that but christ you're spot on. I love the sense of foreboding before you actually enter the place, too- like "do I seriously have to go in there?" I remember Silent Hill 1. I remember Condemned 1. Don't make me fucking go in the school.
Have you played Stalker? Can you tell me if I'm the only person who thought Still Island was very reminiscent of the final half-hour of Stalker?

Man, the school in Silent Hill. I still remember it now, that sense of sheer terror raking cold fingers across my spine. And then there was the God-
damn soundtrack, fraying your nerves ragged...
Never. Ever. Playing that at night again.
If Fear 2 is actually able to measure up to that (which I kinda doubt), I'll probably run out and buy it
yesterday.
