I think Time Gate Studios did these two expansions. I agree, they lack the pacing and segments of the original but EP wasn't bad. I have yet to play PM.
I've learned since Deus Ex IW to never get my expectations up too high. It helps alot!

So far I'm liking PM better than EP, but they are both very good none the less.
By the way, who has encountered the new type of soldiers yet? Killing the first one is a pain, but when I pick up his weapon, things get much more interesting.

The first encounter with the new type of soldiers is essentially a boss. They're identifiable from the regular mob because they don't wear helmets.

All of those bad points are retarded. Of course it's going to be a rehash. Of course the graphics are going to look a bit dated (dated?! in the face of what- Crysis? Anything would look dated compared to that!) It's a fucking expansion pack.
Christ, Gamespot (and IGN and so on and so forth) piss me off sometimes.

When they said that the FEAR engine was dated and needed replaced, I lmao
Dirty_Brute on 18/11/2007 at 02:50
I don't think the Jupiter engine is dated. It looks really good on my ATI 1900XTX at least. It doesn't have tons of shiny stuff like the engine used for BioShock and Rainbow Six Vegas but it has nice Anisotropic Filtering (when maxed at 16x) and excellent night effects. Also, deep dark shadows with lighting look excellent. It makes excellent use of blacks and dark greys.
Those reviewers at Gamespot are retarded! They are sell-outs for companies like EA. They want to influence you to buy only the latest games that utilize the newest engines!
I am still holding out hope that someone will use the Jupiter engine for another Thief game! :D

People that say JupiterEx has aged badly (like IGN and Gamespot reviewers) need to get their eyes checked out. Sure it looks bad by today's standards, but that doesn't make it look bad at all. HalfLife: Blueshift and Unreal: Return to Na Pali were released 3 years after the originals, and I didn't see reviewers complain.
Anyway, I'm now somewhere in chapter 3 and it keeps getting better and better. Some of the combat has been more fun than FEAR and EP combined, those grenade launcher heavys are nasty, and so are the new soldiers (the super-fast type).

As pretty as Jupiter is, it really isn't optimized too well.
