Nah, I think Koki's referring to auto-switch, where the game will switch your weapon to the one you just picked up automatically.
This annoys me too, so I'm sure there must be a way, as it's one of the first things I do, but I can't recall where the option was.

To add a 3rd option to the list of what Koki could be asking about: I think he's asking if there is an option to disable the auto-pickup of items; by default you automatically pick up items when walking over them, unless you've reached the maximum of course.
That annoys me to no end, where I often accidentally pick up armor when I had well over 65 armor points, for example.

You can't disable the automatic picking up of items but you can disable autoswitch.
Since FEAR 2 basically throws you fresh armour every 5 seconds it's not that big an issue, though you need to be more careful in FEAR 1.

Bjossi got it right. And

Ffffffffffffffffff
It's so dumb. People don't even realize how much such a simple change(Walk over to pick up -> Click to pick up) can change the gameplay. Wasted opportunity by Monolith imo

That I agree with you on. It's particularly annoying when I'm at 90% armour and I pick up another one when I'm trying to avoid it until I need it because I'm in the middle of a fucking firefight.
Though usually they're somewhat out of the way in FEAR 1, which helps.

It sucks, but Monolith are also the kings of generic "we'll give you a pile of ammo/weapons/armor/healthkits right before a big fight" pacing, at least as far back as NOLF1 (haven't played much before that).

Whoa, I think we just discovered the one good thing about Shogo - health was really kind of hard to find.
Jason Moyer on 23/4/2009 at 18:22
Yeah, not really interested in that or Blood, even from a nostalgia perspective. I've played enough of Shogo to know I'd rather be doing something else.

Shogo was fun but hasn't aged well. (Blood 2 fared worse, holy fuck.)
Blood, however, is and forever will be the cat's ass.
